You may have heard the Toyota Transmission is a "sealed unit" and you do not need to touch the transmission. If you are looking to have your transmission last 250k plus miles, changing the fluid is a must. The ATF is still breaking down and metal is still chipping away in the transmission. I prefer to do a drain and flush more often than replacing all the fluid so you do not shock the system with new oil. Will work for 3rd generation "gen" Tacomas. That is my 2 cents.
