Sweden here. We never pour grease down the drain. If it's pourable, it goes to the compost, otherwise we put in scrap paper towels, soak up all the oil, and use it in the winter to light the wood-burning stove.

I am from Caister on Sea in UK. My neighbour has a dropped joint and I have cleared it with my little 150 bar jetter about 11 times. Unfortunately they came and inspected because I had a major blockage, they could not even get the camera down the pipe. Bruce, Bruce! It fascinates me how different Australian and US plumbing is. Of course, we have to consider freezing temperatures, so that's part of ours. But we don't have gulleys in the yard where multiple drains collect. We have vent stacks inside the walls that run from the roof down to below the house that picks up any drains in its vicinity. Typically, there are multiple stacks that all feed into the horizontal main line that runs under the house. And that main line is the only pipe that emerges from the house. There's typically a clean out just past the wall to get a camera/snake/jet down and then it heads straight to the municipal sewer or the septic tank. And depending on the system layout, you add clean outs along the way, particularly if the main line runs under concrete.
