"Carbon fiber is light weight and super strong but no where near as strong as titanium!" You are joking right? That's absolutely false. I suggest you educate yourself on the mechanical properties of Grade 2 Titanium (this frame is not made from the far superior grade 5 alloy) vs. typical T300 carbon fiber (I'm not even talking about far superior grades like T700). This frame is not lightweight and in a crash that might snap a carbon arm, the grade 2 titanium arm will bend, which is just as bad because if you do manage to make it straight again, next time it will bend in the same spot in a less severe crash. This frame would have been equally strong and actually lighter and cheaper, if it was made from 2024-T3 or 7075-T6 aluminum. This product is a marketing gimmick. It should have been made from Grade 5 Ti alloy, then it might have been something interesting.

What’s the impact force it takes for titanium to bend? I’m only asking because you’re talking like a metallurgist.
@zbroydrones76934 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. You are absolutely right about the technical characteristics of the material. Indeed, it can bend and it can be straightened back. But we decided to produce from this type of titanium due to our technological processes. In the future we plan to experiment with Grade 5 and Grade 6, as well as aluminum. Now at the start we presented such a frame with such materials. We would like to note that the main goal for us as a young company was to explore the possibilities of FPV design and create something unusual, non-standard and interesting.

Holy shit - where do I begin?? First off - 2:28 That's why I fucking love you bro! LMFAOOO! 😂 I'm not much into racing, so I don't care about the weight (unless said weight is dramatically decreasing my flight time) and so this frame has definitely caught my eye. Imagine - crashing hard, even hard enough to bend the frame, it can still be bent back into shape. That in itself makes it a great beginner frame! I think that this is the next step into the star wars universe that lies just ahead. Awesome product review - I will definitely be looking forward to your build/flight experience. Peace bro.

Forget such a Titanium frame! Far too heavy in comparison to CRFP. If you go with lower weight, it will bend and you can throw the complete frame away, not only a single arm or plate. 😄 Here is an example: Suppose you take a plate of 100 mm (length) x 20 mm (width) x 5 mm (height) and clamp it at one end. Then you have a flexural modulus of approx. 99473 N/mm^2 for a CFK laminate 0, 45, 90, -45, 0 (with HT fibers, 50 vol.% and epoxy matrix with 1 mm per layer). At 1000 N at the other end the plate bends down by 16.1 mm. The titanium has n modulus of elasticity of 110000 N/mm^2, which means that you will have a deflection of only 14.6 mm with the same geometry. Now we come to the specific stiffness. The carbon part has a density of 1,47 g/cm^3 and with the geometry a weight of 14,7 g. The titanium has a density of 4.43 g/cm^3 and a weight of 64.7 g. If you want to adjust the weight, reduce the volume. Take a titanium plate of 100 mm x 10 mm x 3.5 mm (optimized for moment of inertia). Then you have a deflection of 84.9 mm at 1000 N, which is almost nonlinear.

No, titanium doesn't bend. It will shear off.
@WKfpv4 жыл бұрын
Why are you assuming it will not break? Titanium is brittle, and the frame is heavy af, I want to see it crash. Do you imagine how tough 190grams of carbon fiber would be?

50 grams is a lot of additional weight. I don't think Titanium will hold up better than carbon. It won't break, yes. But it will bend. And I'd rather have something be stiff and break than be soft and bend. Because an arm will bend much sooner than it breaking. Unless this flies so much better than a carbon frame, then there's absolutely no reason to buy it. More expensive, more heavy, less sturdy.

You seriously trying to hype this as a viable daily basher alternative??? Hahahahaha. Its a cool frame and would be a cool build to do, but I bet the designers didn't even intend for it to be a basher... or even a daily. Seems like its just something showing the companies design capabilities. Which as it shows is really good, bit common man be realistic.
@DigitalArtisan774 жыл бұрын
Nah won't work. Tianium is only the strength of steel with half the weight. Its neither stronger or lighter than carbon done right. It will still bend and break.
