If you take a real look at it, he's looking at from a label/corporate perspective; the way they measure (and because of it, either often miss or hurt the culture). Cormega had the perfect break down w/ that Landmark Vs Building metaphor. 21's definition is like one of the many new skyscraper in Manhattan built over the last couple of years. That's what I been saying forever, there's a difference between a MC and a Rapper. We not old school we was around when the culture started so if you came up in the 80's and 90's we rocking wit MC's. It's only a handful for MC's that are in the mainstream. My opinion Rappers are Pop and MC's are Hiphop. It is what it is, people say, it is hiphop evolving. No! It wasnt a misunderstanding. He used the word, "relevant", but what he was describing was "popular" or what's poppin right now. It was the wrong word. He even said in the interview that, "Maybe I'm using the wrong word." But, as Styles said, it's on you for what comes out of your mouth. That includes when your using words incorrectly, even if you dont mean any harm.
