This might seem like bullshit but I am absolutely sure I am the shitter from the Kara run. Just about everything was true except for me being a clicker. I had never been to Upper or lower Kara before, and had been gone from WoW for about a year. I heard the story and about shit my pants laughing because I even remember blinking into the group and killing someone by fat-fingering blink. 10/10.

Xalted so, you're already behind if you're looking for a guild in the first couple weeks of an xpac. And usually most good guilds are filled right before the xpac because they don't want to be behind

It's like being 'on time' in the military. If you're on time, you're late. If you're early, you're on time. To answer your question though (despite not knowing what off-season roster changes are) the first weeks of a new expansion can set the tone for the following 7 or 8 months of raiding/socialization/whateverthehell, so most guilds want to start off strong if they can. They want to level to cap and run dungeons to get some loot on their skinny blood-elf asses so that when Wing 1 of Raid 1 opens, they can be in that door ASAP and not be able to actually do it because something is invariably bugged.
