My mother used to play this song endlessly, and I never got sick of it! The bass singer for Home Free doesn't get quite as low as the bass singer for the Oak Ridge Boys though lol. Still a great rendition of a classic country song.
@belinda96965 жыл бұрын
Austin has a real dynamic and clear voice and he can belt those high notes. Tim also can go so low that some notes are barely audible, but you can feel the sound waves will blow you away. in concert I've seen people's hair move like the wind was on it, I've felt my pants legs flapping, the floor shakes and seats too (aka bass in your butt).

My favourite genre of music is GOOD. Good is relative to each person and moment in time. Sometimes we just connect. Music is in the ears that hear, the heart, mind, and soul of those that feel. If a song and singer connect to you, which country music does a lot, it's good music. Great reaction as always.

You're good brother. My favorite story to tell is when I was 5 or 6 we were riding somewhere, we being my mother, sister, one of two brothers, and myself. Listening to the tape with this song on it and I hit the low note and caused Mama to pull off the road to turn in her seat and stare at me.

I don't trust people who say they 'don't like' an entire Genre of music. If you haven't heard ALL of of it, how can you say you dislike it?
@blackenreed14255 жыл бұрын
Totally agree except that I might say "believe" instead of "trust". I like what I like when I like it depending on mood, time of year, weather, whether or not I'm driving, degree of sobriety [NOT when I'm driving], etc. For example. I didn't appreciate this song because I was expecting a different "Elvira" Same applies to groups/artists. Some I like, but....., others I don't, except for ... , and some I actually hate, except for ....
@UserHorologium5 жыл бұрын
I can find examples of *any* type of music that I like, but I can say (honestly and accurately) that there are genres of music I don't like. I don't like rap, but I also have "Funky Cold Medina" on my iTunes playlist (as in I bought it at the Apple music store). As for Home Free, Pentatonix, Voice Play, Voctave, they can take songs and genres that I don't like and make me like them, but it doesn't make me a fan of the genre.
@sean_b_drummer5 жыл бұрын
While I too remember this song (from back when it came out), I've never been a fan of Country Music. BUT... I honestly don't care what Home Free sings, I'll listen to it! Their talent, both as a group and individually, is so immense it's just awesome. Another example, I hate most Xmas music, but their version of, Do You Hear What I Hear? is on my year-round playlist. The vocals are, of course, unreal, but the arrangement is so unique.

These guys had me hooked during their first Sing Off performance!! I am a devout Home Fry! I love that you claim to be a Home Fry, too! The Oaks have stated that they feel that Home Free is very similar to them in that they’re a close knit group of guys, and their appeal to their fans. They also stated that they think Home Free will follow in their footsteps as far as longevity goes. I couldn’t agree more! Thank you for this reaction.

I just loved this song when it came out by the Oak Ridge Boys. When HF with the Oak Ridge came up with this version, I will admit that my favorite is still the original. I have no fault on this version. It's just that I find the original version more pleasing to my ears. That's all... By the way, I follow several reactors. When they react to genres I don't care for, I do Try to listen to it but... When they continue to react to these singers, I just bypass it until their next reactions.... Thanks for reacting to this song!

1:44 Great respect for Country music + great reaction! Glad your introduced to Home Free! I'm only 20 but I grew up with the oaks too! 3:00 time does well with the Bass singers bc they get lower but I can see what you mean & I can even tell with Rhichard's low voice. It sounds like SOMETIMES it's hard for him to get down there. Great reaction!

I just loved the look on your face & in your eyes when you were getting ready to rewind to hear Tim hit his low note. You were daring anyone to say anything, LOL. Like you said if they do not like country then skip the video. I am not a big country listener, but there are some performers I just can not help listening to. I grew up on Hee-Haw & The Grand Ole Opry, and to this day I really cannot listen to twangy country. Not real sure what my mental block is on that one. But between Home Free & Chris Stapleton I have started listening to country a bit more. Maybe because they are not what I would consider strictly country.

Love this song, excellent cover by Home Free, a lot of credit to Jeff Castelucci (from Voiceplay) who arranged it. I don't really like Voice Play as a group, I really like Jeff Castelucci by himself. I'm pretty sure they're contacts, as I think we've seen him with brown eyes. However, they *look* real, unlike some colored contacts (cough "Daft Punk" cough, although those are *supposed* to look fake). I had a Korean acquaintance (not close enough to call a friend, but I knew her) who had some absolutely stunning green contacts, and they looked absolutely real. It was striking, as she had classic and delicate Korean features, with green eyes under the epicanthic folds.

The arrangement for this song was done by Geoff Castellucci, the Bassist for VoicePlay. They're pretty good friends from being on the same season of the Sing-Off. So VoicePlay definitely has some good arrangers. By their name, they do tend to "play" with their voices more often than the other groups, doing weird things with their voices or singing in character voices and a bit more theatrically, some people like that some others don't prefer it, but VoicePlay is probably one of the more spread-out groups, Home Free stays mostly in country and ranches out sometimes to various other genres, but are primarily country. Pentatonix is primarily pop, holiday and dance music while branching from that sometimes. VoicePlay doesn't really have a primary genre, they just are all over the place with what they cover, some genres better than others.

It was🔥🔥🔥🔥..Voiceplay, Filharmonic, Ptx, etc are all friends & amazing..A cappella community is tiny compared to 1000's of band w/instruments, so they all support each other..Home Free/country-ish/soul/pop & Ptx/pop/soul are the biggest selling all vocal bands invthe world & deserve to be heard more on the pop & country radios, but > "a cappella stigma" is still a problem> YET - they still sell big!!😊
