I was fortunate to see Les Miserables on Broadway several times. When this song came on I had chills. Austin gave me those same chills. It's an older man singing about a young man going off to fight. Austin did an amazing job, and thank you for reacting to this.

I knew you would love it! He majored in musical theater in college with classical music training. One of his professors wanted him to go into opera. He has amazing breathe control. His rendition is just stunning, but honestly when I saw the play on Broadway there was not a dry eye in the house after this song taken in context of the play. If you're thinking of sending Austin a song, you might be interested in a song which was sent to him in demo form. given a production by Sebastien Douyon and sung by Austin, called Empty House. After a slow start, it is becoming a hit on You Tube, gaining about 1k views a day. This is Austin as you have never heard him before! pure blues, and very moving, especially for those of us who have suffered bereavement. The composer calls him/herself ResurrecSis Music and the demo and finished song are on that channel. He/she confesses to being rather shaken by what they did with it. As there is no video attached, it may not be suitable for a reaction, but check it out anyway. It's quite an experience. I really enjoy your reactions and this is no exception.

I'm a Home Fry. What follows is a biased reaction. Austin is fabulous. That finish though. I know he can do uncommon things but the increasing volume of that final note, its length and timbre. Just amazing. Austin could sing a page of the New York City phone directory and make the Top 40.

I will get a lot of flack, but I have to say it. Austin does an incredible job with this song, no doubt on earth. HOWEVER, his voice is TOO young for this song. This song was written to be sung, by an older, battle worn voice...asking God to save the young man, over himself. This song needs an older voice. I am NOT NOT NOT knocking Austin's talent...it is just this NEEDS an older voice.
