Samantha, Austin is just known as "an old soul"....a very good & kind dude....he is very much like he is when he talks on here at the end when you meet him in person....all the Home Free guys are just like him in person....they are the "GOOD GUYS". Yesterday Austin dropped a new video, and it's incredible...a cover of the Ray Charles classic "Georgia on my mind"...it was filmed in Canada, so he had...Georgia on his mind....it brings realism to the video. Austin has a classically trained voice, and his college professors encouraged him to pursue a career in Opera or the theatre

You are a beautiful & sweet lady, Samantha. You are not the first to cry when hearing Austin sing this song & I’m sure you won’t be the last. He is an amazing young man with a beautiful soul. If you noticed that his southern accent was missing in this song, because he was trained to sing without it. He does have a degree in musical theater. He had to bring back his southern “twang” (accent) to sing country songs with Home Free. He just released “Georgia on My Mind”, a Ray Charles classic, since Austin is from South Georgia. I enjoy your reactions, tears and all! Thanks for being “real”! 😘

It's a very powerful song, very powerful musical (Les Miserable) set during the beginning of the French Revolution. For us fans (of both you and Home Free) it's just nice to see others happy (even if they are tears) after coming out of such isolation. Thanks for brightening my day and showing that there are real people in the world still and not just media shills and politicians.
@200yente2 жыл бұрын
That is a common misperception. Les Misérables is actually set 43 years after the French Revolution took place, during an uprising known as the June Rebellion.

Your face said it all!! Austin’s voice is beautiful! He was singing this on a cruise ship with the rest of Home Free hurt him for the first time. A little later they asked if she if you’d like to join the group!! Great reaction!
@patriciamcl54 Жыл бұрын
Not quite that simple. They were guest entertainers on the ship where he was featured performer. We don't know what he was singing when they met. They met several more times on cruise ships but had no vacancy at that time, but Rob told him their high tenor was considering leaving the band. Months later, there was a vacancy, they further auditioned him and he joined - mainly, according to Tim, because he could read music and was keen to join.
@patriciamcl542 жыл бұрын
In addition to an amazing voice, Austin has the blessed gift of conveying emotion to his listeners. You really should not feel embarrassed about your tears - they are the true sign of a good heart. There is a very good film of "Les Miserables" with Hugh Jackman, which I am sure is available for streaming and which I'm sure you would enjoy: it's a very touching and exciting story. It's not very helpful to compare a performance of a song with a whole performance, but for my money Austin beats Hugh Jackman for beauty of tone, sincerity and general star quality. Thank you so much for your reaction.

Home Free was the guest group on 2012 on a cruise ship when they saw Austin singing this song as part of the ship's cast Broadway numbers. They remembered Austin when they needed to replace their tenor after he left the group the next year.

Not quite. The band met Austin several times on cruise ships when he was featured performer but had no vacancy. He had to hang around for 6 months doing odd jobs waiting for a call (Rob had told him they might want him and that he would get in touch if they did). Austin auditioned again and joined the band, and changed their fortunes.

If you ever have the chance to see Les Miserables you should go, it moved me beyond words. I saw it on Broadway 6 times and would go see it 20 more times if it was still running. This is the most iconic song from that show and Austin did an unbelievable rendition of it. I could tell by the look on your face during the reaction it was hitting your feels the way the song is intended to but once you know the context of the story line it hit’s you even harder. Thanks for a great reaction. (I don’t know how I missed your reaction to this one but was going through your Home Free Playlist and saw that I did. Better late than never!) sending hugs ❤️

His talk at the end is a little cheezy but I think it’s sweet too because he has announced this is his last year with Home Free. When asked why, he has made it obvious that he wants to be home with his wife. Home Free tours so much and Austin is married now and wants a family life. Even though he is so popular with Home Free, that doesn’t mean that people will find you doing solo work. It is like starting all over again. So it is sweet…he is giving up the bigger money from being with Home Free so he can be home with his wife. I wish him success. Makes me think of him singing When a Man Loves a Woman and how his wife was in the room and he was singing to her (of course she wasn’t shown).

I've loved this since the first time I heard it. I prefer his rendition over all others I've heard. You're a good person. I can tell because your gratitude came running out of your eyes. Blessings to you. There's a movie of Les Miserables where Hugh Jackman plays Jean Valjean and sings that song.

Bring Him Home is from the musical Les Miserable. I saw the play many (many) years ago and Austin's rendition is better than the one I saw! It's such a beautiful song and so beautifully sung. Sebastien Douyon accompanies so skillfully - you can see him watching Austin in order to co-ordinate the piano with the singing.
