Yes, I feel I did learn from your reaction. Austin is a humble, genuine and extraordinarily talented young man. He's only 36 and has at least a couple more decades to develop his career if that's his desire. All we Home Free fans love him dearly, and enjoy his solo work so much.

Austin is wonderful. He majored in musical theater in college. You can hear him and his Home Free band mate Rob Lundquist sing opera in Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera. I love the song. It’s so emotional and Austin did a wonderful job. You have a wonderful voice too and beautiful blue eyes. Hope you’ll listen to more Home Free. They are all incredibly talented men. 😄

Watching musicians who really know music react to that last note is always so much fun. Austin's degree is in musical theater and this song was one of the songs he sang on the cruise that Home Free was also on where they fell in love with his voice and he fell in love with them. You can understand why. He's got an amazing amount of talent, but also such discipline.

I just saw this and must say yours is the best reaction video I've seen. Not too many interruptions & not over-the-to- descriptions to make you sound like you know so much more. I enjoyed your comments w/o stopping the video and the genuine expressions of surprise and joy. I wish others would put short comments on the video itself rather that pause the videos. Great job! I'll watch for more.

His live version of "Unchained Melody at Tim Foust's 6th Birthday Bash" is mind-blowing. Austin & Rob Lundquist also have a duet of "Nessun Dorma" (on Austin's channel). He spent his years in college (on a music scholarship) trying to nullify his Georgia accent. When he joined Home Free, they told him to stop trying. For the most part he can quell that accent but it still comes through now and then. Thanks for playing this & your analysis. Love from Canada.

This is the first of your videos I've seen. I really like the way you add the commentary as text. Austin is so good at drawing the listener into the emotion of any song he does. This is an amazing example of that. He has also done Danny Boy. If you haven't reacted to that yet, you should definitely consider doing it.

Thank you for you analysis. I think this is his best performance ever. While studying musical theater he worked really hard to get rid of his accent. Home Free met him on a cruise ship where he was doing musical theater including Les Miz. When he joined the group they asked him to bring it back. Now he can turn it off and as the song needs it. He can sing any genre.

I believe Austin had graduated from production work on the cruise ships to being a featured lounge singer. There is video of him at that stage of his career, singing Dock of the Bay in the lounge area of the ship and singing with Home Free as guest artists.

Mr Cedric Gegel this was one beautiful reaction. I love this song and I was so excited when Austin did this alone on his channel. I love the rasps and cracks he used to emphasize the story, but that last note! My heart almost jumped out of my chest. First he did that gentle, almost reverent 'peace' and it was gorgeous, but I never ever ever expected the start of that last note. His tone just grabbed my heart and squeezed. I've watched this video so many times and am so glad that I decided to watch your reaction. Subbed for more Austin Brown and Home Free reactions. Now that I have sought out as much of his work as possible on KZbin, I am totally hooked!!! His total musicality touches my very being like I haven't heard from many other singers in a very long time. By the way, you have a killer voice too and thank you for the bits you shared as you were giving you two cents about Austins voice. Thank you for your KZbin channel. Whereas this video was recorded inside Austin's home, his videos for Ain't No Sunshine and Tears in Heaven were filmed outside his house in the evening with his fishing pond in the background, and with his house in view when the camera swings around during Tears in Heaven. Two beautiful songs sung in a beautiful voice with a very beautiful background. Steven on guitar and Sebastien on piano are good friends of his, musicians he works with often. In fact, Sebastien is part of Sweet + Low Music Co, a non a cappella band Austin and bandmate Tim Foust put together with friends and family (Tim's SiL and FiL). I don't think they've said but I do think the idea of this group got its start with Tim and Austin's video for My Maria, with Sebastien, Chris Chatham (Tim's longtime friend), and Chris Marion (Tim's brother-in-law). That makes 3 videos I'm recommending with the plea to please keep listening after the song is over. The messages are heartfelt, moving, and can be very amusing. Not skipping that part of each video I'm sure will bring a smile to your face. Enjoy!

So glad you're a Home Fry - me, too! Love those guys. However, I also love VoicePlay and didn't see any videos in your list for them. I think you'd like and appreciate their unique style of creativity and, of course, incredible vocal talent. They are the 'theater kids' of acapella and often utilize sets, costumes, and makeup. And almost all of their pieces are like little plays.. Favorites are: Hoist the Colours, Warriors, Carry On Wayward Son, Dream On, Queen in 5 Minutes, Nothing Else Matters, Golden Hour, and the newest one - Valhalla Calling.

I absolutely adore Austin and Home Free. As a matter of a fact I've seen them in concert 5 or 6 times. If you want to hear another tenor, they call "The Voice", the best tenor in the world. David Phelps, sang with the Gaithers for 20+ years, but is solo now. Check him out. AUSTIN IS AMAZING!

Have to say - the "assessment" of Austin using His Southern Vocal style ..... a gift as well as Natural and charming ..... is a little uppity - a typical tool for the "TRAINED" Opera mindsets ...... I am a Southerner by choice - 40 years - and I have to say it is annoying that people think it an accent not acceptable. Think of it when you make judgement. Thanks, jj
@CedricGegel1

Hi! While I hear where you’re coming from, I exclusively referred to it in a complimentary way. It is, in fact, an accent, as all voices have one; he does not always use a classical operatic approach to his vowels. That’s part what makes him unique and wonderful. I grew up exclusively listening to country music and love the sound. There’s not a skosh or ounce of judgment - just observation. Thanks for watching!

This is a HUGE pet peeve for me. A YOUNG man, no matter how talented or fantastic CAN NOT SING THIS SONG! It is an OLD BATTLE WORN MAN begging God to save the young man instead of him in battle. A YOUNG voice CAN NOT grasp that emotion! I love Austin, but he is TOO young to sing this song!
@patriciamcl54

Nonsense. This may come as a shock, but actors and singers do not always play people of exactly their own age. Hugh Jackman was in his 40s when he played Valjean and Alfie Boe was no older. There are such things as acting and make-up. In fact if you know the story of Les Mis, you'll know that Valjean is not so old, is physically very strong and has not really been in battle, so is not battle worn! It would be absurd to cast a Valjean incapable of lifting Marius. There are not many broken down voices in musical theatre, for obvious reasons. It's a mistake to be too literal in these things. Btw Valjean and Marius are not in a battle - Marius has been injured in the attack on the revolutionary barricades, and Valjean is praying for the life of the man his adopted daughter loves, in the tunnels beneath Paris. He knows that the effort of carrying Marius to safety may kill him, or his life-long enemy may kill them both.
