Joel's work is incredible, and, he's not what a "technical" photographer would be in that he experiments. Lots of photographers are stuck on the science, and do not push the boundaries of creativity.

I'm one of those that likes to use an 85mm for portraits but because of you I did some test shots using my 24-105 f4 lens at 24mm. I like what I saw! So now I have another option. Thanks, Joel!

So refreshing to see a video showing a photographer at work producing great images, sad to think many people just view gear vlogger pro's droning on about cameras.
@McDaddy141
@McDaddy141 5 жыл бұрын
It's kind of sad to see how photographers who just use a camera and simple adjustments get view as "the best photographers" just because they are mainly vloggers. Not saying their photos are bad, but they really don't tell much or require skill. The skill these vlogger photographers posses is entertaining people. The only thing that sucks is seeing instgram full of same meaningless photos, shot at less than 2.0 aperture, orange/yellow skins, and grainy looks

Thanks for the interesting tutorial. If I may give my opinion, I think it would have been perfect with a better fitting suit. The jacket is to wide in the shoulders making for an unpleasant look. I would even have added a pocket square.

Jim Jordan Photography says NICE....we do the same technique too, with 35 through 100 mm...notice what he says about the aperture a 7.1...."sweet spot" being critical unless you want blur. Remember blur is an effect that should be used for specialty shots, not all portraits call for this esp if using studio black, grey, white backgrounds. Joel's work outstanding.
