I've seen a lot of people say this plot normalizes abusive - doormat relationships that keep East Asian women in thrall to the historical second class status of women, but I'm starting to think differently. Look at the outcomes. When she was the doormat obedient housewife, the husband couldn't care less about her and actively despised her. When she was herself, that is, an intelligent modern woman who didn't accept disrespect from ANYone and who solved her own problems as far as possible, the husband became intrigued and eventually fell in love with her. It seems the message is, Don't be a doormat or your husband and family will walk all over you and look down on you for it. The takeaway for modern young women is that women who are independent and self-respecting are more likely to get and keep their men.

Also, whatever SHE thought she was doing by being submissive, it was obviously wrong for their relationship. She certainly didn't make him happy that way. He was at best indifferent to her, or bored... at worst he found her annoying. Additionally her behaviour allowed her family to lie about her for years, maligning her character in his eyes. If her goal was to improve his life with her love, she not only didn't succeed; she actually enabled him to be a worse person than he would otherwise have become. I personally didn't view him as a man of honor, but his relationship with her the first time round certainly did not make him a better person.

I like this version. Well acted, and there is a lot of growth and realization on the ML's part. FL gets strong and realizes she can't lose herself in a relationship. Love the Sis-in-Law! *I think the husband didn't realize the accident was really serious in the beginning. There's a comment later on that the FL was originally very capricious. Not excusing his behaviour, but I'm wondering if he thought she was pretending to be hurt? (In some other versions of this plot, the FL had a history of setting up dramatic situations in order to try and get the ML's attention)

True, always gets me how the stories start off with a young, timid little field mouse of a wife, being forced into a marriage by overbearing greedy family members, who is everyone's wet doormat, then suddenly becomes a famous, in demand, Dr or jewellery designer or whatever, that nobodies ever seen, where and when did they ever get the learning and skills for these professions, that would take years to achieve. I've seen this basic storyline several times, and I think this is one of the better versions because it does a better job of explaining the ML's initial hatred of the FL and the misunderstandings between them. That being said... the English subtitles are a mess. Sometimes they only stay up a fraction of a second. I had to pause and go back so many times during this! No lie, it was a split second for some of the subtitles, gone before you could read more than one word.

I am a bit torn on this one, he obviously was an uncaring arsehole during her first life, but he was forced to marry her and she acted like a pathetic doormat with zero dignity, who for some reason, despite being a genius scientist decided to be a stay at home wife and devote her entire time to being a nanny to her husband. She dressed like frumpy nana and didn't seem to brush her hair. Once reborn she is a completely different person, while initially he missed his nanny, I think her standing up for her self to various bully's in her life, cleared up some misunderstandings. She is a competent and beautiful woman now and doesn't take any crap. If she can be a different person in this time line, I guess so can he. Having said this, I do wish she had chosen to stay single, but this is a c drama, the FLs forgive and take back, rapist, murderers and abusers. This MLs cold indifference makes him seem almost a catch. 🤣

I feel you on this one. His response during the ambulance scene(past life) came off a bit too cruel. We don't get any insight whether he's ever had any good feelings at all in her past life. Otherwise, this would've been a near perfect short drama. I saw another version like this. Only it wasn't a car accident. FL wanted to end her life by jumping off the roof of a building. So she calls the ML. When he answers, he didn't take her words seriously and thought she was being dramatic. Until he saw her body fall right in front of him. We got to see his regret and that he did have feelings for her coupled with the same old misunderstanding of having a mistress.

Loved this. Ml was an a** at the beginning but he worked really hard to make it up to fl. Appreciated that toxicity & abuse was kept to a minimal. Absolutely loved the sister-in-law and how supportive she was to fl.

I highly recommend this scene to everyone. If I meet the person who wrote this scene I will offer him a good champagne for the incredibly informative work he has done Everything is fluid with emotions and lessons transmitted by each actor in each scene well done guys that's what we call a real scene or better a good film I will never thank you enough since you gave a chance to women who are in the same situation to stand up and say no to certain lack of respect coming from their spouse towards.A good woman deserves respect and who says respect says love afterwards the woman was patient, helpful and loving to deserve the same thing, I hope that other screenwriters will learn from this one because not only does a screenwriter have dignity,but also self-esteem in addition to knowing the value of women and respecting them, it's just magnificent 😘❤️❤️❤️...At least this man wasn't too horrible at all,and his wife was able to stand up to him to show him the firm right of women to make him recognize these duties towards a woman, thank you very much... he deserved all this suffering From now on he will respect his wife...not like these horrible dramas with stupid forgiveness towards horribly demonic men..Congratulations and thank you to the sister for telling the four truths that her brother deserved to hear a very good moral lesson

One of the few going back to a negletfull, abusive ex dramas I enjoyed. I'm glad they ended up back togheter. At least they learned to communicate. I loved how everyone except her own family supported her. Even his own family.

How could she forgive him knowing what she knows? I’d of liked to see what happened after her death and if he regretted it. Selfish man I’d never get back with him. Makes me laugh when he starts to miss her well actually he misses her being his servant cause the things he remembers is her bringing him water and being is human coat rack.

I get that but he shouldn’t have married her in the first place he says he was forced but nobody can force marriage if you believe that and he was forced then he wouldn’t dare ask for a divorce and also he could have clearly investigated or asked and not listen to his secretary. The thing is also when she first leaves the only thing he misses is her being his personal maid. He is cruel, cold violence is still violence.

10/10 rating from me. I love watching the ML in dramas... I just wonder why he never crossed over to main C-dramas... or have I missed him in ones not on KZbin? Thank you writers for granting our wishes of have a close to "real" storyline... ML had to sweat and nearly grovel to get wife back...love can last forever, but treating me poorly and challenging my dignity can bring on a decision of self-preservation that puts love on the back burner! My2cents

The reborn FL shouldn't have transformed right away. She should quietly signed the divorce just like the ML wanted, and when finalized, changed into a new person. Otherwise, she arouses suspicions from her husband who no longer wants to divorce.
