I think the winner or loser of the grab bag of stones was predetermined by Linoge. He seemed to have a "fixin" on the Anderson boy from the beginning.
@FromAgen5 жыл бұрын
Not exactly, the situation is more subtle. Of course André Linoge knows who is his protégé, because he has a power of prescience, he's an extremely experienced clairvoyant. The stones who are an oracle confirm the vision of Linoge via a procedure in due form.

"Stand firm in your Faith, even if it means standing alone." "To be a friend of the world means you are an enemy of God, stand against the world you will be a friend of Jesus Himself" When I was a kid I read those lines in the Bible and/or they were being quoted for me to hear. Though, I never truly understood what those words meant till I got older and began seeing situations like this in books, movies, animes and games. Hell, even in real life! And I finally understood. That man, that father, was not only fighting for the soul of his own son in that town's meeting, but for all of THEM. Every single one of those COWARDS. Yet those people gave into fear. They gave into Linoge, gave into the darkness. They are weak and cowardice. And Yahweh does not tolerate cowardice.

That's not entirely true. He's not the Devil, but actually a wizard (looked him up), but still evil. Concept of the movie was to show how Good😇 and Evil😈 can enter/leave as they please. Majority of the villagers were committing sins, crimes, and murders behind each other's back. Plus going to church, then getting away with it. This explains how Andre Linoge came in. Quotes: "👄Born in lust, turn to dust👄." "💎Born in vice, say it twice💎." "🔫Born in sin, come on in🔫." Thanx for listening. May the Force be With Us All.

The towns people had conscience so a lot of them had their own demons to deal with and as you see some committed suicide because of the pain one parent loss.. How can they feel otherwise? I would love to read the book to get insight on the demon's reasons behind his decision and if I am right he wanted the one child from the most decent family.

Catherine Lopez There was no actual book, per se. King just released the script in book format. However, it was obviously deliberate that they left the choice making process ambiguous; Linoge certainly seems to target the constable and revels in taking his child. But as he says, "perhaps you fooled yourselves," since after all, if they had not cooperated with him he would not have gotten any child at all.

I hated that molly was a coward and lost her child . I think if they stood up to him they would have lived. At the worst at least they would die knowing they didnt sacrifice a child to this devil . I'm not sure if he the devil bc he can live. I felt so bad for the constable he was the only one who objected and he loses his son . I figured he must have had a begrudging respect for him as his only sin is cheating on a test while the others he calls out did much worse. I think he rigged it to take the constables child. He is so right once they start down the slippery slope they would go all the way. He picked this town knowing they were cowards. So when they take Molly's son and she flipped out pissed me off. I think if they stood up to him they would have lived like linoge said " u tricked ourselves " that preacher really should be ashamed besides molesting his nieces he is spouting religion . Also at worst if they all die at least they would have done the right thing . Cant believe that woman says it's an adoption and the guy says a good life. Wow they are evil.

The cops finally caught him screwing a child in his home or car. He was de frocked( they took away him being a priest ) u can google him even he was one of the worst & I unfortunately got to cross paths with him at my school his 5th place. Just dispicable. Not saying all priests are pedophiles but am curious if they pick that job bc they will be around children or after years of being celibate they target kids. 0:28 he blinks when he says "I CAN PUNISH" indicating that there wasn't much truth under that threat. His power was clearly limited to a few people at a time. He was never shown to be making more than 2 or 3 towns folk commit murder or suicide at a time. If they all did what Mike Anderson suggested they would have triumphed over him. He was clearly worried when Mike tried to dissuade the Towns folk and refuse. He preyed upon their fear as a last resort. Moreover, he is a complete hypocrite in regards to his own evil. He commits acts on wanton murder, and then exposes the towns people for their sins as if he is somehow more innocent than them.
