"Storm of the Century" had to happen after the events of "Dolores Claiborne" because the town manager guy mentions her and "whatever happened during the eclipse" when he wanted to kill Linoge in the jail cell. And yeah, this mini series is one of my favorite King stories brought to tv or film. And as someone suggested in the comments, a Linoge prequel set in Roanoke Island that's mentioned in the mini series would be fun to see.
@Kamakazi152.2 жыл бұрын

The obvious prequel concept would be Linoge accosting the residents of Roanoke Island in 1587 (as was referenced in the movie). The contrasts between the two communities could be explored, as it would seem that the people of Roanoke resisted Linoge, only to then be destroyed. My own idea for a sequel might be the return to Little Tall Island by Ralph Anderson, now changed through his years with Linoge. Arriving to find his mother now married to Hatch, and Hatch's daughter Pippa back to living on the island after a messy divorce. Linoge himself has died (far sooner than he had expected to), leaving Ralphie's tutelage somewhat incomplete. He wields great power, yet hasn't been fully consumed by the evil of Linoge.

The town meeting was a great showcase for who Linoge was. Revealing everyone's dirty little secrets is what the "accuser of the bretheren" does. It said demons do that during exorcism, they'll blurt out the sins of anyone present to weaken them. I loved Daly's accent in the epilogue. Linoge takes another strike at Daly when he becomes a detective in San Francisco, presenting himself as a stately wealthy San Franciscan elderly gent going for a stroll with his boy. It ends on a cruel note as it began, with the viscious murder of the old woman.

Colm Feore and his character really stole the show in this series. He is a very calculating antagonist. It always seems as though he's the one in control in every situation he finds himself in. I also love how it isn't explicitly said what Andre Linoge is suppose to be. I've heard theories ranging from him being a powerful warlock to the physical embodiment of evil and many more. This is what great story telling looks like.

I agree with King. This film was a masterpiece of dark art and produced fear based on tension and atmosphere. Linoge was a masterly crafted villain with respect for his rival revealing to Mike that his son was safe and cared for in the final scene. Not the best reward for Mike with whom we all cried, but an acknowledgement of Linoge toward heart of the hero that opposed him.
