My distributor gave 1,500 boxes to a streamer. No brick and mortar. If you don’t have an LGS, you should be limited. We have to hold tournaments, we have to provide a playing area just to be an OTS and sell early, we have to buy product that doesn’t sell and lose money, and if you break any rules, they take your distribution away. Not streamers. They sell product early even though they don’t meet the requirements and nothing ever happens to them. Streamers and online stores can also afford more because they don’t have to pay the extra funds for a physical building. Game stores can’t win.

@ Yeah. I meant etb’s for prismatic. I just think that’s an extreme amount. These stores lost money on Magic and Pokémon last year, and this was a chance to actually make some of that money back. Game stores aren’t only selling Pokémon. There are other card games they’re losing money on as well. It’s a lot harder for an LGS compared to a streamer sitting at home only selling Pokémon. Something needs to change.

I keep saying it, but I hate how all those 151 upc's and etb's were constantly available in big box stores in the US but never in Europe. Europe always seems to be neglected in that sense which leads to us paying huge premiums for these kinds of products. Not to start about al the US and Pokemon Center exclusives which are never even released in the EU at all...

I live in Australia as well I walked away from the hobby because it has become about nothing but money and not about collecting and fun anymore my advice is to not give into any FOMO or prices and close your wallet and wait it out probably best to buy your daughter her favourite cards or direct her into another part of the Pokemon hobby that isn't gambling there are figures and plushies etc to collect the card game is just too ridiculous to justify collecting anymore.

So, I don't know if this is any sort of real explanation for the issues, but I will say that I personally started back up in the hobby after watching popular youtuber, MoistCr1TiKaL aka penguinz0 play TCG Shop Simulator with a pokemon mod installed (ironically as a F.U. to nintendo for being so anti-fanbase), and got nostagic for collecting after trying the game myself. The market seemed normal for maybe a week or two, but then everything shot up, began selling out online, and were suddenly near impossible to find in physical stores. I'm guessing that there were lots of others that played that game, and either gave in to nostalgia, like me, or saw dollar signs at the prospect of investing, and the pokemon company just wasn't prepared for that sort of extra demand.

Here is a logical math question; if PCI is printing to the max and new sets are still coming out and released sets are sold out and haven’t gotten their reprint(s) usually within the 2 year window. How is Pokémon ever going to catch up? .... esp when Prismatic Evolutions is pumped, Journey Together is hyped, Glory of Team Rockets 🚀, Mega Evolutions, 30th Anniversary, and upcoming Gen 10. If they print faster, then quality most likely diminishes. The only way out for Pokémon is to buy another printer company or expand their recent purchased printing company. The latter will be easier, as they will not have train new staff and setup PCI entire printing layout(s). I see the rip N shippers getting the best allocation moving forward. They are hungry for packs and they will buy most collection boxes and junk products outside the standard BB, ETBs, BBun, 3 packs, sleeved, and single blisters, they they can breakdown the pack selections and sell them for a premium. Thus, it’s a win-win for them and the distros.

We think its bad now but we all know if they dont turn the printers up, the team rocket set will do 10x the damage prismatic is currently doing. They should delay all unanounced sets and do reprints of every 2024 sets + prismatic. This is terrible business practice like did they really think none of these sets would need a reprint to meet demand? We all still want 151 LOL + a whole years worth of amazing sets that went up in price way too soon after each release and they thought nothing of it? The lack of prismatic after EVERYONE seeing what happened with evolving skies is just dumb and disrespectful ignorance. They got the community fighting over these sets and charging insane prices while they sit back and count their billions. They currently dont sell a card game, theyre selling pieces of an investment portfolio and as much money as pokemon has they're leaving billions on the table by not doing reprints of all these sets. The Pokemon company looks very shady right now cause none of this makes any sense even from their pov. Ive never seen a business have such a big success while somehow failing to an even larger degree. END RANT I wish everyone the best trying to get product just dont pay these insane prices, help people (especially kids) get product for a normal price if you can and hold on till this company does the right thing to earn your money!

I don’t think you understand Marketing the KZbinrs are getting access to products before the release because Pokémon wants the height every single KZbinr I guarantee you is an influencer in some affiliate network and are getting the product directly from the source. They tell them when to drop and release the product. It’s half of the reason why we are in such a craze
