What I like most about your work is that you really pay attention to ensuring the incision is as small as very possible. This is so so important for preserving tooth in pong term. I don't know where in the world you are, you do an amazing job. I refuse to go to dentist because lots of them drill massive holes in tooth. You take the time to rebuild the tooth to its natural or most natural state.

I've got atleast 4 cavities on my molars and somehow I made the god awful mistake of going down the rabbit hole of these videos. They're sore when I wake up in the morning but throughout the day the pain goes away. From what I've read from people who had huge cavities I'd think I'd be in more pain if they were anything huge. My dentist completed a tooth filling on Tuesday for a cracked filling I had, he mentioned after he was done that he had removed some decay and that’s it. He did not took a long time this was a fast procedure. I went home and I was numb of course, coming the next day I was in pain, my teeth hurt, my cheek and gums hurt, I started feeling numbness, I did not get up from bed all day due to the pain, I went back to them and they were closed. I could not see them, now we are Saturday and I am still in pain until Monday. I don’t know what he did to me. 😢 tooth ache is the worst pain ever, I need to head to urgent care to see if I can get some antibiotics to help. 😢 This video is great, I would have loved to have this kind of work done. Someone who really cares for their patients ❤.

Probably none at all. It's not close to the pulp in the grand scheme of things. But they may have numbed up for the patients comfort. Even the rubber dam clamp sometimes impinges on the gums so personally I would ask to be numbed.

I've been practicing dentistry for 14 years now. In my experience, there are no "small" cavities. I do like your delicate yet deliberate technique. Once you develop a feel for it, it almost becomes the perfect amalgam of healthcare and art; not to mention, there's something satisfying about pulling out the rot and restoring a tooth close to what it was

But that's because I have a good dentist now, when I was a small child the dentist would not listen to me when I said it was still hurting me. I work in dubai and half of my patients are filipinos. I try to follow your method in every filling (specially anterior teeth was really helpful) and whenever I feel that a patient is getting annoyed by the amount of time it's taking me to finish a filling that he/she thought was simple, I take the chance to tell them that I'm learning from a filipino dentist on KZbin who is very professional, then I can sense the pride shining in their eyes! 😁

I remember having a cavity just like this. The only things I can remember was the feeling that the entirety of siberia was inside my tooth and the strange spring noise I would hear sometimes.

What happens when there's a hole in the composite when filling? Like an air pocket or bubble?

A hole in composite will weakens the restoration and affecting its durability. Any space between the tooth and the restoration causes micro leakage of food and drinks into tooth. This leads to recurrent caries meaning that caries returns again to the tooth as there is still space where the bacteria can take as a habitat. But it will lead to worse complication like the caries would reach to the pulp( where all the blood and nerves are) and affect the vitality of tooth. The treatment of this will not be a normal restoration but the affected pulp has to be removed. This treatment is called Endodontic treatment.
