Sir, I have been painting landscapes using acrylic for a long time. Recently I switched over to oil paint. I have had good success doing so. Nicely explained. I like the idea of breaking down art into parts. But, I believe that is called specialization through partitioning of skills. In contrast, periodization is a method where you change both intensity and frequency of training over time. None the less, simplification to complexity is an important method of adaptation.
