I love your enthusiasm. All the reviews for this have been so critical. Everyone repeating the old trope the high level 5e sucks and is broken. I'm glad you don't subscribe to the group think.

I'm the guy who loves 4th, so I guess I've never followed popular opinion. High level characters being broken isn't unique to 5th Edition either since 3rd Edition was as well. It's easy enough to modify monsters to make them more difficult to overcome, and I have fun reworking them.

The other lvl 20 campain released by WotC is also Chains of Asmodeus. It was surprisingly "quiet" release

I too have a Vecna obsession & sadly cleared out 80% of my Dragon & Dungeon mag collection a decade ago, but Dragon issue 348 was one I kept. I own almost all the Vecna stuff, but gave away Eve of Ruin to a buddy because I was so disappointed in it.

Thank you for the review, I bought it as well and even despite its flaws, I do think the adventure has so many good things in it that to me, it was definitely worth the purchase. also Because vecna is one of my favorite villains as well, that alone makes the book worth it to me! And I plan on buffing vecna up as well, because I got 8 PCs and I doubt vecna would last a round as he is.

8 PC'S, I would consider using the Solo adjustments from 4E to boost his stats.

I'd recommend checking it out at 401games online store. That's where I bought the exclusive cover and they charged $65 for it plus tax and shipping.

Note that Vecna doesn't have Legendary Actions because it has 3 Reactions per round.

That is true, I missed that. I still plan to give Legendary Actions for more options (2 points to cast a spell, 1 point to teleport up to 30 ft.)

Checkout Mr Welch channel on his rewrite for this campaign. He does a really goood collab with other realm specific veterans and takes you to a lot of the realms. I want to run his version so badly.

I read the stat block, but not the encounter, if that is the case I won't be adhering to that. I use the books as guidelines but alter it to fit my groups needs.

That is true, it's by no means a perfect book. I tend to alter or modify most adventures I run. I look at published adventures like old school modules, they are a framework that I use while tailoring it to my and my groups preferences.

Perhaps, but so was 3rd Edition to an extent. I'm used to modifying stat blocks in 5th Edition to make the encounters more challenging and that was always my intent with this campaign.
