I am EXACTLY the same when it comes to trying to be creative. If I have something to work from, the inspiration is endless, but if I have to come up with my own idea, my brain is an absolute wasteland lol

This is so cute! Before I clicked on the video, I thought this might be summarizing a journal entry into a single art piece. I wasn’t able to consistently journal for many years, but lately I have been. Maybe if you happen to journal, that could be really neat to try and condense a whole day into one character or just one art piece. :] Love what you’re doing with your channel, I’m a new fan and I love putting in your vids while I also draw or craft!

The dinosore was hilarious!! 🦕 The 3 color challenge was popping!! 👍 Your snow picture was very artistic and how you see snow! ❄️ Iridescent and rainbowy! 🌈 I would rather see that than the brown, grey muck that is out there otherwise! 😢 But... I don't like walking or driving in it. My level of grace seems similar to yours... I cannot count the number of times I have landed on my tailbone in this weather, and I've had the most car incidents in it as well... if I could watch with a hot chocolate from inside a toast ski lodge only, I'd love it!! 😂🤣

I’ve heard ppl say prismacolor pencils aren’t what they used to be. Guess I could compare since I have a smaller set of them from when I was in college and my teenage son has a set that I bought recently for him. I feel like layering is key, lots of layers, combining colors. Love your videos, I’ve been dying from the flu this week. My cat Hobbes has been watching too while he’s supervised my recovery.

The dino-sore page is so cute and I love the pop art page! The design of the cup on that page makes me think of cups in the food court at our mall when I was a kid. As for the colored pencils, the texture may be because of the quality of paper in the book you're using. Sarah Renae Clark did a video comparing papers for colored pencils and I just got some new paper I can't wait to try out thanks to that video.

I hate snow. I'm a Floridian (I know, I know) and the first time I saw snow, I thought it was ash. That same winter, I got strep so bad I ended up in the hospital. I'm not very resistant to the cold so I'm not a fan lol. BTW, I really like the pop art piece, but as an avid cotton candy fan...that ain't it. 😅 At first I thought it was a cinnamon roll. (I'm so sorry) I've never tried drawing cotton candy though. I bet nailing the texture is challenging.

Lol, I think its the color. I used a reference that looked really good, but it was pink amd had the paper cone so I think it was more obvious.

The thing with coloring pencils is patience, so it's probably not the medium for you, since you have said you don't have patience in many videos😅 It's all about coloring lightly and layering. The first layer should be barely visible, the next layer you will add a tiny bit more pressure, then the next layer you will add a tiny bit more pressure, and so on.... I think most professional coloured pencil artist probably do 10+ layers. I have never done more than 5, and still it turns out amazing. But I hate coloring pencils for bigger area. when I use them, I am coloring small (currently I am coloring Disney characters, where there are 3 A4 papers for the entire picture, on those 3 A4 papers there are 54 different characters, which probably tells you how small they are🙈) When coloring in b bigger areas, I believe you do the best option, color with a marker first (you could get waterbed markers, for those times you can't use the alcohol ones. they aren't as good as alcohol ones, but they are making a base color as good as the alcohol markers🥰) I am so happy Aussie Crafter told me about you. Have been binge watching all you videos, because I love just seeing your cute style, and hearing to you talk😊

As someone who does colored pencil drawings that aren't scratchy and are very opaque, you're completely correct. I press VERY hard. I press hard any time I write though. My hand is always in pain.😂 Also, I didn't know you were a teacher! What grade? Fellow teacher here.
