I love the toad hat/head argument.. To me, it's always been both. It's kinda his hair, it grows a mushroom like cap on his head, that can be removed all in one piece like a real mushroom, so they can grow new ones, or style it and wear different ones similar to people wearing wigs or toupes.. So it isn't a hat or a head, it's his hair. Also his head accessory, so technically a hat. It grows from his head, so it's a part of him, so it's his head! It's both and neither! Have you guys tried drawing kinds of japanese yokai? For example, I'd like to challenge you guys to draw a kuchisake-onna and a teke-teke. SPOILERS for yokai descriptions below: Kuchisake-onna: Also known as the "slit-mouthed woman", the Kuchisake-onna basically asks a handful of questions before proceeding to kill her victims with a pair of scissors, such as giving them the same chelsea smile that she herself has. (Mileena, the big-mouthed femme-fatale from from Mortal Kombat, supposedly draws inspiration from this legend.) Teke-teke: This is a female ghost that was created when the upper half of her body was separated from the lower half of her body when a train ran over her. She is named after the sound of her torso dragging along the ground as she crawls along with her arms (similar to the Twin Victim from Silent Hill 4). If she encounters anyone at night, then she'll attempt to slice her victims in half, and steal the lower-halves of their bodies.
