@@stefanalexanderlungu1503 listen man they were doing their best, they were literally laying the groundwork for the western artistic tradition in the margins of the books they were copying by hand, they're the art history equivalent of getting into art by drawing on your homework. And like, I'm not sure we as a society can make fun of medieval drawings of people not looking like people when weeb culture is on an eternal rise. There are literally conspiracy theories hentai is fairy (insectoid alien) propaganda to get people attracted to space bugs (and this is a good thing because their race was almost wiped out by space aids) On the other hand we should make fun of their animals because what the hell

This made me cackle because its strangely accurate in a way. xD It also made me flash back to my art history classes and picture all the weird man faced disproportionate babies in medieval art because artists then were like "a baby is just a tiny adult right?" Well that, and the pictures of horses etc that looked like someone tried to draw one from a memory based on a description lol. (Side note: This is said as a person with an appreciation for the stylistic absurdity of medieval art and an understanding of historical/cultural context around it. Intended as more of a playful roasting than any actual disparagement of any artists.)

Hey, physicist here answering Julia's question regarding the terminal velocity of ham. Some back-of-the-napkin calculations suggest that the terminal velocity of 3.5 lb ham would be approximately 52 +/- 18.7 meters per second (the error on that is pretty large because of the uncertainty in the cross-sectional area and the drag coefficient). That comes out to about 116 +/- 42 miles per hour.

@gmseven4150
@gmseven4150 2 жыл бұрын
@@sorio99 Not necessarily. Speed limit is not terminal velocity. Speed limit is a local traffic ordinance imposed by people. Terminal velocity is how fast an object falls in an ballistic trajectory determined by natural phenomena. So the speed limit is whatever society decides it is. I wasn't concerned with that question though. Julia asked for terminal velocity, and I did my best. We've got an estimate and approximate upper and lower bounds, and that's about it.

What I absolutely love about the garbage ape movie comic (the original) is that garbage ape is apparently the director and is *not* playing the part of the garbage ape. There’s a cat on the staircase with two garbage cans strapped to his arms, and the garbage ape is being told about the budget problem on his film!
