21:50 one of my favorite people i've met had pretty much this exact experience but with a roach (also like, WAY worse parents- like beat her for waking them up in the night worse) it caused a roach phobia so bad, she later jumped out of a moving vehicle, That She Was Driving, to get away from one. Unrelated, but she also once got stopped by airport security for coming up in their databases as the most wanted woman in Indiana

Wait what Was that "most wanted" thing an accident, or did you have the most interesting friend?
@1star_god9 ай бұрын
@@NoiseDayhm.. i suppose its a mix of the two? She was, in fact, the most wanted woman in indiana. Bbut it was because the cops that brought her in for drunk driving, somehow futzed up the paperwork so bad that she was put in the books as being arrested for murder, so then when they realeased her, on the books it just looked like she was no longer in prison, ie, escaped. so, as far as the computer systems were concerned, there was simply an escaped murderer on the loose that no one had managed to bring back in for at Least a couple of months, when she popped up at an airport returning from her wedding lol. Plus, she's more of a professor of sorts than a friend, she manages the wildlife population study I get to come help with sometimes :P

@@1star_godhow bad does the police system have to be to accidentally mix up the worst crime with a minor offence that doesn’t even have jail time. those two shouldn’t have even been in the same building. i hope it didn’t negatively affect her life tho and got rectified
@1star_god18 сағат бұрын
@@sylvy16 the good news is getting pulled by airport security and then getting the whole thing straightened out with them went pretty dang smoothly, all things considered. They were able to laugh about it pretty quickly after- her newly wedded husband was even able to joke about how cool it was to be married to a 'most wanted' criminal while they were still clearing things up. The reason, my friend suspects, the cops managed to heck stuff up That severely, back at the time of the original incident, was because it was a very small, very white southern town, and a good number of people there seemed to have soured on her when someone noticed a picture of her with a high school friend, who happened to be black, giving her a little peck on the cheek. She'd received a few nasty notes, one or two threatening messages left outside her house. And to top it all off of the reason she'd wound up driving while intoxicated was because the man she'd been with for years and was talking about marrying (for reasons seemingly unrelated to the high school photo), drained they're joint bank accounts and dropped off the face of the earth, only to pop back up calling her from Las Vegas with another girl, to tell her she needed to stay away from him, to send him his things, and that he hated her and never wanted to see her again. So, by the time she'd made it back from her romantic wedding in Italy- after moving away from that hell town, and finding a guy that really seems to have clicked with her- Getting delayed on their flight home to find out they thought she was a wanted fugitive of the law for murder, was pretty small stuff, in comparison XD

Listening to how Julia and Karina read Delicious in Dungeon is causing me physical pain. I had a significant other who used to read the last chapter of every book before deciding whether she wanted to read the whole thing or not and I just can't understand

as someone who gets a lot of anxiety from narrative uncertainty, i can see why someone would. it's much much easier to get through tense moments or deal with questionable storylines if you know that they'll be resolved, or at least how they'll be used in the narrative. i don't go out of my way to read ahead esp not the ending, but i do not care about spoilers for anything but mysteries and usually I'm not interested in something at all until i know enough about it that i know roughly what the experience of reading it will be like. i am also autistic which is the underlying reason for pretty much all of that lol it's just a different way to digest a story, safer emotionally and not taking so many risks with the rug being pulled out from under you or feeling like you've wasted your time, and seeing how things come together with foreknowledge is an equally if not more satisfying experience to me. you still get surprised by things you didn't know about, and also seeing how other writers accomplish something is fascinating to me.

Oh I have a wasp story too, only I wasn't sleeping. For a little context this was around the time that a bunch of those "bugs crawling on your screen" apps seemed to be trending? Or at least I kept getting recommended those apps on Google Play lol. I was also deathly afraid of wasps and bees because my mom had gotten attacked twice by ground bees when her horse stepped into their hive on a trail (she was fine both times, just a little in shock the 2nd time and obviously got stung a bunch but it wasn't too serious. Horse was also fine, just understandably very spooked!)... curiously bumble bees make me nervous but not terrified out of my skin. I was also like 11-ish at the time of this event, so some of the details are a little fuzzy. I had been doing something on my tablet (writing/drawing??), lying on the floor in the living room. I don't remember what I did, but I left for a couple minutes and when I got back to my tablet, I got really confused. As far as I could remember, I hadn't downloaded any of those weird apps, I only looked at them for a little while..... so why were there 4 wasps on my screen? Now I was back to lying on the floor, my face maybe a foot away from the screen. I leaned in a little closer out of confusion and one of the wasps buzzed and used its wings but didn't actually fly. I was mostly confused but was starting to get it. That's when my screen had been untouched for long enough that it turned off.... but the wasps were still there?? Oh. OH FURGEN SHTICK! I swear I don't think I've ever jumped higher in my life than when I realised they were actual literal wasps attracted to the light/warmth of my tablet. I didn't even stand up, I did like a weird push up scramble away like a cat getting startled, nearly fell over onto my butt and then booked it across the room into the hallway and banged my fists against the bathroom door where my dad was taking a dump or something, all the while screaming hysterically. My dad nearly got a heart attack, yet he still took FOREVER to get out of there when I explained what happened. He then proceeded to shmack the life out of two wasps with a newspaper, but the other two had fully disappeared. Good god I hate wasps. And bees a little too. Bumblebees are pretty okay though, because they're way more chill.
