This is an amazing opportunity for any aspiring comic artist or writer. Getting to sit with the man as he creates an amazing comic cover. Thank you Jim Lee for being such an AWESOME person for sharing this type of experience. I will probably watch this a dozen times! :)

Me on an all-nighter deadline: coffee, shaking hands, sweating, swearing, frantically pounding more coffee, and collapsing at the dreaded break of dawn. Jim Lee: a bunch of shout-outs, camera set up, soothing sharpie anatomy lesson, and then finished pencils as effortless as tossing a paper airplane. My lifelong idol never ceases to amaze!

I watch it all. Sometimes on twitch sometimes on youtube... I work Graveyard shift as a security guard so I have lots of time on my hands. Your streams have helped keep me sane through the long nights. I am a long time fan going back to the beginning of your career! Mad props to you! I saw your snippets after ep1 of Krypton!

Lately I've been going through a phase where my eyes have improved and I realized that all of my drawings are shit. This hit me hard and I'm feeling a little down. Watching Jim Lee draw and erase all the time during the intial stages of drawing the cover gave me more confidence as I've been erasing a lot lately as well. Thanks Jim, I'm looking forward to more of your videos!

This man is so nice and well spoken not to mention a comic god I never thought I would get to watch him draw comics I grew up on. When I was a teen I took art classes and me and my friends would try to draw comics like Rob and Jim and I hate that I stopped drawing over the years I guess I gave up when I realized I would never go anywhere with it but this has inspired me to pick it back up after 20 yesrs

And I hope they get burned like everyone did with Superman #75. I hopped back into Spider-Man after dropping the title for almost 15 years (not knowing about the latest plot) only to miss 2 issues not realizing it was shipping more than once/month.. missed 2 issues and ended up getting bent over on ebay just to get them... the TL;DR ... always keep your pull box/list updated. lol
@itzzzsss6 жыл бұрын
kbruns33 I knew after reading parts on Days of Future's Past, that something like Superman #75 couldn't be. Killing off the main guy, impossible. But now, after many Earth - ####, it gives writers any options to write as many Supermans on one page. Currently I'm not a collector for the stories, rather the title's awesome art, 1st appearance, cover, and nice variant covers

LOVE the rendering as always but in this pose I find very little gesture? Almost like, the spines have no flair? Something in me wants to see more torque in the limbs, arch in the backs, expressive necks or exaggerated poses like the old master paintings or an animation keyframe... just an urge but man that would've put this over the top! Still awesome & love your work of course! :)

Can someone explain the reasoning behind the positioning of the figures? Superman has his right leg behind the bad guy and the left leg in front of him making it seem like he's with his back turned to the bad guy almost as if he was sitting on his lap and grabbing his neck to punch him at the same time. It's a very odd position to be in in a fight, trying to punch someone. I realise it may be visually important to have the characters kind of facing the "camera" but wouldn't it be better to at least rotate his hip towards the other guy, putting the right leg closer to the camera instead, and creating a torquing motion of the torso for the punch? I love your drawings, of course, but this is oddly bugging me
@blindthief6 жыл бұрын
Superman doesn't twist and turn like the average human since he's able to fly and defy gravity. If you took a snapshot every second of a real fight scene you'd see that there are times when a person is off balance or in a weird position. Plus, creating an effective drawing means you have to bring out a character's best features. It's a good drawing.
