Me too… I practice as often as I can..but I’m just not very good at it. I need to practice daily I think…just set aside a time each day and just do it!

Practice is good of course. But sometimes I think we are just too hard on ourselves and tend to forget how much fun it is! When I focus on that, I draw more, and I forget all the mistakes for a while :) @@jcline147

You are NOT a dinosaur re your lead pointer - just a gentleman with excellent taste. Out of curiosity, I did a search to see if one could still purchase this type of pointer. The answer is no I believe it was a one man or very small company that is no longer in business. Sigh. Thank you as always for your generosity in sharing videos like this.

Haha! Thanks - But that thing is from the Jurassic Period!! I worry that it will stop working one day, but so far so good. Of course, there's always EBay :)

By the way - out of curiosity, I just did an eBay search and there are a number in good vintage condition for under 20 or 30 dollars - So all is not lost !

Well I guess both the pointer & I are of Jerassic vintage as I bough mine new as a teenager. Not to feel bad. Trust me I’d much rather have a vintage aura than the alternative!

@@thomaswschaller thank you so much. I am headed to the West Coast of Washington state mid week and I’m going to try and draw numerous things at the coast. One is the ancient tree with all the roots that hang down and the other of course would be cliffs and rocks. Those are favorite things of mine and I just need to practice more. I’m always encouraged when I can follow your tutorials and instructions here on KZbin. I’m very grateful for your demonstrations and instructions. They are invaluable to me.
