Aww! So bittersweet we're halfway through the tiny sketchbook. There are so many good memories of watching this book come together. Daisy is also one of my favorite characters because she's so down to earth. I would totally watch a series about the children all grown up too. I think a bigger painting of a moth in the same style you did in this sketchbook would be so fun to watch! Thank you so much for this video and I hope things with settling into your new home go as smooth as possible.

I was lucky enough to get the full 120 set of Arteza coloured pencils from my bestie for my birthday and I absolutely love them. Prismacolor Premiers are my favourite pencils, but they are very expensive and also because they are so buttery soft and waxy they need sharpening so often that some of my babies are now teeny tiny! The Arteza ones are like the blendiness of my Prismas but not quite as soft so they hold their point a lot longer which is fantastic! Arteza replied to a comment I sent and said that they were going to make their pencils available as singles so that we don't have to buy a whole new set just because your favourite colour becomes too small to use even with an extender. Hopefully that will be fairly soon. I also have the Himi gouache set (the middle sized one, 24 colours I think or thereabouts) that comes with an extra palette and 3 or 4 brushes that all match the colour of the set (I got that gorgeous mint green one). I love those too as they are a lot easier to use because you don't need to get out a giant palette and lay out a bunch of colours etc. You can just open the lid and off you go. The one tiny complaint I have is that there was only one white and they don't sell the jelly pots separately so I am having to buy a tube of white gouache to refill it and hope that the consistency isn't too different. You had a smaller set before the big mac daddy set you have here right? Did you ever have to refill any of the pots?

I was painting a stone bridge over a river with some background plants in gouache and a sunny sky; as I watched this. I have been mixing custom gouache in half pans and other old pallets using both my himi gouache and my M.graham titianium white with my various watercolour paints, and then having many already mixed colours I simply wet them a bit before and paint. It's been way more inspiring, easy and fast for me since I have been doing this and laying them all out in tins and pallets along with watercolours to make mixed media art. I highly recommend keeping track of and labeling/naming the mixes and writing in a book the 'recepie' for the mix (approx) and continuing to mix more custom gouache and watercolours It really can speed up the actual paintings (at least for the way I prefer to paint) You can also make custom limited pallets with these already mixed colours and easily keep them unified and on theme by referring to the book. I also swatch them out on papers cut to the shape of the pallet they are in so I have a quick look at what the dried colour looks like if there may be a drying shift. Or to help with watercolours that look dark and dense in the pan vs painted, etc. I've been working at least twice as fast and painting double the art as a result! Since I got most of this done. i also did tons of practice and research and went after more watercolour tubes that are great for mixing other colours and been mixing my own! The time spent pre-mixing is totally worth it! Then you look at the collection and swatches and 'find the gaps' What colours in watercolour and gouache am I missing. Faster to grab a very similar mix and another mix to make a new mix AS you paint as an additional note. I think I should make a KZbin video on this actually.... Or a series....

I feel like blubbleflies would have very harmonious voices that depend on their facial expressions. Ones that look angry or scared would be bass, sad maybe baritone, happy would be soprano, etc., and their noises would be in different pitches. Maybe the happier they are, the higher their voice gets and their voices are more "La, la, la," and when they are upset the kind of sing "Do, do, do" in lower tones. It would also be interesting to see what causes the different emotions from the blubbleflies - so what makes them happy, scared, angry, etc. On another note completely, if you were to do stickers for bullet-journaling (or just journaling), I think they would be cute little stickers as mascots. I could personally see myself using angry, sleepy, or grumpy ones on Mondays drinking coffee. (Not sure how they'd drink it as they have no arms, maybe long straws, or even their tongues are expandable like Elastigirl from The Incredibles?)

If you have a spray bottle fill it with distilled water and spray the paints and cover them back up! I use distilled water to avoid mold from well water that is not known for its sterile properties! It works with regular gouache too!
@Noniof33 жыл бұрын
@@mjpete27 thanks for your reply. I’ve tried that with poor results. I sprayed the paint, let it sit, tried to stir and they just didn’t liquify much at all. I think one problem I have is the lid doesn’t fasten on tightly.
@mjpete273 жыл бұрын
@@Noniof3 I have had trouble with the cheaper brands of gouache in the past, I just keep wetting and depending on how much they dried out will show how much re-wetting they will require. You can try covering them with plastic wrap after spraying to help keep the moisture in. Good Luck!
