In this video I experiment with creating a pixel art lighthouse. However, I replicated this image at smaller and smaller scales until the image was nearly impossible to see what it was. Enjoy the video!

funnily enough i basically do this will all the art i make, but i flip flop between starting small, and starting large. starting small is usually more interesting to me because i basically get to feed my own imagination because there's no room for details, so i have to imagine them when drawing the larger image. kind of like playing an old NES game, sometimes you think you're looking at something, then you see the concept art or something in the manual and you go "aww what i had in my head was way cooler." well, i get to draw that thing that was in my head. very fun.

Lovely video, thanks for making it, it's so interesting to see what difference the size of the canvas can make :)

In the 64x64, the life preserver and pole mixed with the rocks looks like a person sitting holding something with their legs in the water! I can't unsee it! Haha

when going down on size the challenge is to keep it recognizable, and when going up the challenge is to add details correctlly
