Love your skill/art! Out of curiosity, which paper grade do you use? I have just bought a sketch pad with 170g/m2. So quite smooth. I also have a pad with 130.

this is a 220 gsm grey toned paper anything above 180 is good for realistic drawing.

@@SketchShade I bought the 170 for on the go sketching. I used to draw portraits when I was a teenager but lost interest because my profession at the time meant 8 hours a day on the drawing board. I am now retired and want to get back into drawing, particularly portraits. Your videos have inspired me to do so. 👍🏽

It's good but I don't believe in the grid effect! I don't need to use it ! As I can draw from view ! No need to grid it. Plus in my opinion if you grid it and you mess up one bit it's throws it all out! Just sketch it out roughly then gradually fill it in! Why make it so difficult?
