Thank you for this video! I was only thinking of level of detail with respect to depth of field (ie, elements that are further away are less sharp). The idea that details are lost in the shadows makes perfect sense. I'll have to keep in mind the phrase "the suggestion of detail" in my future paintings. Thanks!

I love your videos. I just recently started drawing and you have already taught me so much! Thank you for taking the time it takes to create videos. I appreciate it and wouldn't be able to draw as much as I am if it wasn't for your videos.

I'm loving your videos on charcoal drawing! I would love to see more videos like this. I'm finding that as I do not charcoal drawings, I'm getting better at values and it's improving my oil painting too. Thanks so much! 😁

Thank you so much for this detailed video on how to handle realistic drawing. At some point I would like to try it, but at the moment I don't have the patience to concentrate on one point for so long. It was definitely very helpful for me to see how you deal with it, what you pay attention to and what is the most important thing in realistic drawing. Especially when you hear that sometimes less is more. You forget that the moment you really get lost in the details. This is a beautiful picture with the elephant, simply great. I really like your art and look forward to more great videos. LG Tanja 🙋‍♀️☺️

Hi! I love watching you paint, it’s amazing how your paintings turn out. I was wondering if you could maybe paint a panda. I would love to see it and would definitely figure out how to maybe buy a print. I know you probably won’t see this but it would be amazing to see the panda.

As a growing artist, I really appreciate your generosity of your knowledge. A goal of mine for this coming year is to begin seriously promoting myself and establishing a website or Estore of some kind. Would you mind doing a video of what has worked for you and any pitfalls you came across? And also how you approach selling prints of your work, such as are limited, numbered editions worth the extra effort? Do you use a print on demand service? I tried to search to see if you had done something like this already but couldn't find anything. Thank you so much for your time, inspiration and advice!

Thank you, this was so helpful! If you're open to video suggestions i would love to hear your tips and tricks on drawing an all white or all black animal and how to maintain realism when there are less values available to create a piece with!

I find that your hints for drawing/painting can also be used for other artistic disciplines, including sculpture, music, acting... too much detail in all aspects of the product make it boring; highlight parts of it to make the overall finished product more interesting and authentic.
