About Aaron Blaise:
============================
Aaron Blaise is an animation feature film director and wildlife artist.
For 21 years Aaron worked with Disney helping to create some of the greatest animated films ever made. During that time he worked as an animator or supervising animator on "The Rescuers Down Under", "Beauty and the Beast", "Aladdin", "The Lion King", "Pocahontas", "Mulan" and more.
In 2003 he was co-director of "Brother Bear" for which he earned an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature Film.
After "Brother Bear" he helped to develop several projects but ultimately left Disney to pursue an opportunity back home in Florida. Aaron recently served as 2D Animation Supervisor and Character Designer for the "The Bear and the Hare" an advertisement loved by millions around the world. ( • Video )

Amazing! Aaron, just a question: How do you keep motivated/inspired to still work in your craft as if you were a beginner, even after all these years of masterful work and success? I'm a musician and sometimes get very unmotivated. Thanks for sharing your beautiful talent with us!

wow you came to Japan. Man would I love to see the reaction of some Japanese people you met after they learn you worked on Beauty & The Beast, Lion King etc.. some of my students (I live and work in Japan) absolutely worship those classics, they'd freak out if they knew who you were. Thanks for you art tutorials, I frequently study your techniques, and have become a better artist thanks to you.

You really captured the mood! Too bad you aren't around for longer, Monday we have the 4th Tokyo illustrators meetup, it would've been great if you were around and could join and lend your opinion on the subjects we discuss. By the way I think one thing that isn't mentioned is that when you use a sketchbook with toned paper, you don't need to add midtones. It's why the image pops so well when you add the white. I should try your technique, thanks!

Mr. Blaise can draw anything. It's impressive that he can draw architecture and natural landscapes so well when we thought he only specialized mainly in drawing animals.

I just came back from Japan myself. I didn't take the time to sit down and draw like you did, which is a shame really, because the country is so beautiful with lots of views that are different from my home country. I'd love to see more drawings you did while you were there. As always, great video!
