This is a professional review of drawing tablet, which is totally different from commercial popularizings. Good and would like to see more.

I greatly appreciate the work you put into these topics. Tablet purchasing seems to be getting really convoluted over time.

Am really glad about this content. I spent an unreasonable amount of time trying to figure out a Wacom Pro Pen 2 pressure profile which works for my very tactile and 'sensitivity reliant' painting method, and wondered how others were able to get good results out of the default settings or make satisfying sense of the obtuse custom pressure curve. It was torture, but I landed somewhere with it eventually. Please keep up shedding valuable light on the topic!

I hope you get more views someday. these videos are a really informative source for people like me who would want to know much more about the tools we use

Bonsoir et merci ! Vous êtes en train de sérieusement désacraliser la notion de pression et je trouve cela très bien : à savoir que ce n'est peut être pas un bon argument commercial.

Great video! I recently upgraded to a cintiq pro 27 from a wacom one and noticed how much harder I had to press down on a pro pen 3 compared to the wacom one pen even with the same pressure curves, I now understand why!

Could you do some tests to see what the max force settings in tablet drivers actually do? For example, in Huion's driver, when you go to set the curve, you have a few predetermined max force ticks as well. Does it preserve the slope of the linear region and just compresses the range at the top? Or does it compress the whole curve? I'd be interested to know.

Very interesting. I use different configurations, per app, in my Wacom panel. Even when I have an actual pressure curve setting in the painting program (most often I use both). About same pens having different pressure readings.. I had to replace my trusty Wacom pen after dunno if 12 years...I found it on Amazon, new. Well, same pen, same model, everything. Yet the new one was more sensitive than I ever remember to be the old one.

thank you so much! your studies really helps in purchasing pen tablets. It will really comes down to the pen feel. I really like wacom's pro pen 2 compare to huion's pw500 which is jiggly on the pen knibs. havent tried the new pen from them though.

The 517 pen pressure its customizable by manually moving the screw behind the buttons of the pen. But the max grain force didn't like it much, Xppen gen 2 feels like wacom 2, not sure if it matches the 500gf but feels so good, also the magicpad pen feels it has even more like a 700gf max force.

Do you have more information about the screw adjustment in the 517? Is it in all Huion pens? Do you think the differing pressure curves are due to a miscalibration of it?

Would be possible make a Diy EMR stylus?

I believe scanlime made one; there's a series of videos on youtube?

I would say in principle it is possible, in practice it is pretty challenging - especially if you want to make it compatible with the tablets that communicate pressure by digitally encoding it into the signal. Maybe someone with terrific hardware skill and who has expertise in electronics could do it. But, it is well outside my skillset.

@@raitotiaryeah they replicate the EMR of old Huion tablets, and emulated pressure, tilt and position.

Hey, would like to know some of your opinions for choosing drawing tablet. I currently want to choose between xp pen deco pro 2nd gen and deco lw. What's your opinion? Is the difference significant and worth spending some more bucks for the pro version? Lastly, do you think this tablet can last as long as intuos? Thank you.
