As an art materials retailer, we feel like we should be more upset at the great results you got drawing with sticks... but we just can't help cheering! One of the amazing things about sketching is that the basic materials are accessible to almost anyone, anywhere and this exercise really shows how true that can be!

Hi sweet Koosje ! You come up with so many exciting ideas to fill our sketchbooks !! I so appreciate that and sincerely thank You ! I love the very dark ‘blobs’ which give it so much depth. While the little scribbles so faintly done give that soft feel those skinny branches some trees have ! Well, you a marvel sweet Koosje ! Thank you for that bright spark you give me every Tuesday ! Got to try and shave a bamboo rod into a pen 😳🤓will see how that goes !! Have a great week and have fun filling your cute sketchbooks ! Hugs….Lorraine😁🥰🎨🎋

I have known about drawing with Sticks for years. Now you have shown me what that looks like. I just picked up my old Calligraphy Pen to experiment with. I was never good at Calligraphy. The closest I have gotten to ink pens is with my Rapidiograph Pen that I bought in 1976. It still gives me joy.

That looks GREAT! Reminds me of original 100 Acre Wood illustrations 💚 I have a little tree on my balcony - will go ask her for a twig now...

UPDATE: That was AWESOME! I so enjoyed that! Took a small twig from Akala (my pink flamingo), slightly longer than a finger, the width of a cocktail stick and dipped it straight into my 7yr old Waterman tender purple ink (which I don't use much) and sketched my palm Godiva: It's a messy inaccurate sketch and I love it! Tried shading by tilting the bottle and using the side of the twig but that didn't work out so well. Stippling might work out better... 🤔 But hey - live and learn! 😄 I even managed to write her name with it and I'm about to tape the twig to the page. Btw got those Koh-i-Noor Magic pencils and LOVE THEM! Sketched my red British postbox pepper shaker (which has ginger in it) and it looks so good! Maybe in future, KZbin will let us post images in the comments! You give the best homework! 👏🏼🥰 Thanks Koosje!

Hi Koosje ! When you said you were missing a story at the end of your video, I immediately "saw" you writing a little text between the trees...Did that cross your mind or were you just thinking it was missing people ? Interesting technique, I don't have ink but I'm thinking maybe of using watercolor to try it ?
@KoosjeKoene Жыл бұрын
I meant it was missing something; probably people, or something contrasting.
@KoosjeKoene Жыл бұрын
And yes, you can use watercolor. Pick a dark or pigmented color and dilute it with water, pick up lots of pigment and create a lot of ‘inky’ color, like you would have a well of ink. And use that for your twig drawing. Have fun!
