When you said you wanted to do an unripe banana for the hair, maybe the ripeness of the banana changes with the mermaid's age. You could draw a little baby mermaid who is green and not peeled at all. Then maybe a toddler could have the peel at skirt length with more yellow, and so on. Love your videos!❤

Hey Rin! The mop brush is usually used for putting water on the paper. The brushes are usually fluffy and large, so it's easier to cover large areas with a wet wash. I hope that helps some!

References are always gonna be your friend. Sometimes they can be overwhelming which is what I'm guessing might be your issue. What I would suggest is printing out some references and putting a thin piece of paper on top and tracing out the faces. Let the motions in your hand become familiar. then after wards, try to draw it again on a separate piece of paper. it will take time, but trust me you are heading in the right direction. don't give up!

Not necessarily as it would depend where they are. Also if they gain weight like humans they'd also lose it like humans and swimming is a good way to loose weight. They might have bulky tails but that would likely be muscle more than fat. If anything I think they'd be more fit due to swimming being extremely good exercise.

Most water color brushes have a slanted or chiseled end I believe. There is some technique where you can use it to scrape the paint away. I tried it once and just tore up my paper but I saw someone else do it with success. Probably different quality of paper.

To contibrute to the debate about the colors, I love van Gogh watercolors, I think they are a perfect starter color! Love the way they are pigmented and how they flow, and the case is very portable and nice!
