I've had to come back and watch this video again as it is the only known video of the actual Python! That roller coaster is my childhood and was the first big ride I went on when I was about 8 years old (1988). My Dad used to take me there when all the kids were at school and their were no queue's, I went on it 30+ times in one day (once the power cut out when we were half way through the loop lol) Back then it was one of the biggest rollers around and if you sat in the back carriage you would get the full force of the first drop with the weight of the front cars and people. Have a look @ 2:25 and see what I mean. That rear carriage get's whipped down there! Good times..

Same...I remember being so proud of myself that I'd been brave enough to go on Python, especially as one of best friends was too scared to go on it. We did manage to get her on to Buffalo and the Log Flume though. I visited Drayton Manor for the fist time in 1994, so this video is amazing to watch for the memories.

All this time I was looking for footage of The Python & it was in your video. That ride used to bash your head against the overhead restraints, but I must have gone on it 10 times in a row. Before Shockwave, it was the biggest coaster they had.

I used to live at the back of Drayton manor and I went there as a kid too. I live up the road now and I always swore it was yellow! This video proves it 😂

I first visited Drayton Manor back in 1994. Python was the first roller coaster I had been on that went upside down! This brings back a lot of brilliant memories from over two and a half decades ago.

Easily Drayton Manors glory days. The wristbands, the great thrill rides, the octopus, sky flyer, the python. Drayton manor has now lost its edge. Focusing on kids rides nowerdays. Owners should take note of American Adventures failed plan for just that...gone!

Adrian Price Totally agree - they’ve been riding the Thomas Land cash cow for over a decade now, and have failed to invest in bigger rides for teenagers and thrill seekers. It would be a shame to see it go the same way as the American Adventure, but Drayton is being left in the dust by most of the other parks in the UK.

Also agree, used to have a season ticket for the manor when I was at school now it's just a shit version of Gulliver's with only shockwave and apocalypse as adult rides

This was a nice dose of nostalgia, thank you. I'm actually trying to locate footage of the Flume ride Drayton had before Stormforce 10 came along, but haven't found any. I'm doubtful much of it exists due to personal video cameras being more expensive and rarer back then. I have vague memories of riding it, and was curious what it actually looked like.

Charlzey1998 klondike moved to Funland Hayling Island but got closed down a few years ago and got replaced by a wild mouse thing

Sky flyer was horrible... Yet you still went on it. Pirate adventure with half of the animatronix not working 😂... Loved Drayton Manor in the 90s

30 years later Drayton manor is different it’s now a family park and shockwave was the brand new massive ride for the park

waterfall I remember the snake train! It was a tractor that pulled carriages around a circuit. If I’m not mistaken, the trains once toppled over with guests on the ride. I don’t think anyone was killed but I can’t find any record of the incident. It was sometime in the early 90’s and had to close after the accident as it was unsafe.
