Drayton Manor Vlog March 2019

Join me as I head to Drayton Manor Theme Park for the first day of the 2019 season! In this video I take a look at the various different changes around the park for 2019 including refurbishments on The Haunting, The Buffalo and many more attractions around the park.
I also share a mix of on and off ride footage from across the park including shots of all the major attractions at Drayton Manor. 2019 is also the 25th year of operation of Shockwave and in this video I share some information about this unique stand up coaster!

Drayton Manor has some good rides but is seriously lacking in coasters. Give it another 2 or 3 thrill coasters and a couple family ones and it could actually rival Alton towers.

Drayton cannot afford anything else after 2018 that's why they didn't open any thing new last season the park is lacking money since last year when the missed out on 3.2 million

Thomas Land looks nice, but Drayton desperately need a major new attraction and investment in the main park. I understand the park isn’t in the best of times right now, but in the last few years we have seen the likes of G Force, Pirate Adventure and Excalibur all close without replacement.

Accelerator needs a repaint I think that the theming of the ride and the fact they kept the same colour scheme as Ben 10 makes the ride quite dull.

Absolutely love this place. Been going since I was 4 in now 32! My kids love it here. Youngest for Thomas land and eldest for the bigger rides 😊 we are camping there in may. Fingers crossed for nice weather

You are correct about The Haunting, the speakers that was used to play the audio for the Vicar used to be above the sharkstooth scrim that is used as the ceiling to project the ghosts onto. And yes, the vicar (or lady now) now has its own speaker which is behind the once was painting where the old animatronic vicar used to be.

drayton manor is like an upgrade from wicksteed park in my opinion. all though i do love wicksteed , drayton manor comes on top as apocalypse is the best thing there and sure does make the park better x

I think they should repaint Ben ten (I forgot the new name for it) to red so it's not green and changed the cars to race cars and maybe take the laser off so there's no evidence of Ben ten. Hope I see you again soon 😎

Just wanted to say your solo vlogs really helped me, I happily do most things alone, cinema, shows etc but Ive always been nervous about doing theme parks Seeing you go it alone to so many different parks assured me I could do it, I had been wanting to visit Thorpe park for so long and last year I finally did it and had a great day I now plan to do drayton as soon as apocalypse is back open

As I understand it, the park is surrounded by green belt land, which has prevented them from expanding for years. Now they're struggling to finance investing in anything, putting the whole park at risk. It's just silly, green belt should be protected, but there aren't many theme parks about, so clearly they should make an allowance here. Apparently the waltzers were removed for health and safety too. Just ruins everything. I guess the Rapids are drained, I'd like to see some pictures of them.

I'm loving the 2019 season so far at Drayton Manor with out ultimate passes, my kids are especially loving it. Can't fault the park one bit, it's a lovely family park. Shame about pirates adventure a few years back closing, I was looking forward to re-liveing some childhood memories this year on that. This year is the first year back at the park for me since I was a kid myself, but as I'd seen from your other vlogs it has been permanently closed for a while now. But looking forward to seeing what they do with the space over the coming years and same with the space over at G-Forse. One thing I think they are lacking is Merchandise as I think you've mentioned in other vlogs, they need some more hoodies and zip-ups and in larger sizes as well, also an idea for different merchandise could be a Car section. For example Car window stickers, Areal Toppers, Bobble heads, Air fresheners, Etc all designed around the different rides!! So rather than the traditional Bobble heads for example it could be Bobble Ride Trains. I know you are quite close with the staff Shawn maybe have a word lol. But dispite that I've still managed to get myself some nice pins badges and a nice rides mug from Drayton Manor so far.

Wonder when they'll ever sort that Splash Canyon thing out, it's been closed for years on top of years at this point, I guess everyone is still wating on the HSE, what's taking them so long. I've always wondered what it would be like going down that path by Shockwaves drop and loop, I know while all those years I went on Splash canyon was open, the near missises of seeing the Shockwave structure and how one ride zig zags around the other was great, definitely when you're on spash canyon and go underneath the shockwave loop part.

Shockwave is great. It's a shame many of the locals are rude and queue jump like I have never seen before. Saving spots in the line and trying to get 10 family members in at a time. I'd hoped it was just that day, but many reviews of the place reckon the staff should get involved more to combat the problem

I love maelstrom, it’s one of my favourite flats, my favourite roller coaster is Wickerman! I’m like you I’m close to both these parks but never really stretched further, I’ve been to Disney world and universal in Orlando though. They are amazing!

Thank you for the great video, as always. This vlog has made me feel quite sad, however. It's a shame to see Drayton Manor in the state that it is in. I remember how amazing Excalibur and Pirates Adventure were, when they were in good keep and fully working order. Excalibur was actually hilarious and Pirates Adventure was always a favourite of mine. Of course, it was a knock-off of Pirates of the Caribbean, but it wasn't bad at all and had its own unique charm! At that time, it felt like Drayton Manor had full and distinct themed areas. Now, it feels like all we get are removals and no replacements and the park feels emptier and emptier. I would like to see the return of some distinct themed areas and would love to see the shell of Pirates Adventure be used for a groundbreaking dark ride and maybe the Excalibur area be transformed into a new type of ride. Thomas Land is great and all that, but I felt that the investment they put into that alienated everyone who wasn't under 7, lol. I miss Drayton Manor 2005-2010 era. I guess, like you said, they're doing the best with what they've got. My guess is that they may be struggling a bit, hence the lack of new investments to replace closures. Do you remember the Black Revolver? That was mental!
