It's pronounced A-star-tees. The Adeptus Astartes(Space Marines) are the transhuman super soldiers of the Imperium of Man. Recruits are taken in at a young age and undergo extreme training, mental conditioning, and cybernetic and biological augmentations, for at least until they're in their 20's. Those who survive are beyond human in their capabilities. Strength, stamina, reflexes, hearing, any attribute the human body is capable of, a Space Marine out plays it tenfold. They are considered Angels of Death by Imperial subjects, for they are genetic offshoots of the Primarchs, the sons of the God-Emperor himself.

5:40 He probably didn't see the renegade coming. There's a good chance he heard him. Going off the assumption that an Astartes couldn't hear footsteps over intermittent bolter fire, his auto-senses alerted him. The HUD in his visor would have given him a movement indicator. Auto-senses are for enhancing an Astartes' already considerable senses. To be clear. Astartes can and have heard something as quiet as footsteps over the sound of bolter fire. But their helmets include everything from IFF to auspex. Meaning marines get heartbeat sensors, thermal readouts, and sound indicators that can even potentially be supplied through walls. According to Only War the common human-grade Auspex had a range of 50m (164 feet) and could penetrate walls up to a thickness of 50cm (19 inches). Auto-senses more specifically are for things like enhancing the marine's senses. They can and normally do make them immune to flashbangs, enhance their sight and hearing, supply night vision and thermal readouts, and even potentially give readouts on radiation. These can be as complex as a scout marine's goggles, including all these systems in just a pair of goggles. Or as fancy as a proper Astartes helmet. Which has all of these systems and more depending on chapter and operational requirement.

I'm sorry...? "Men up"? "MEN FUCKIN UP?!" My dude! Astartes is the pinnacle of masculinity! Such a high peak of masculinity that they cannot even be called human enymore! The fact that the Space Marine only reacted to this sudden teleportation through hell with vomit is a testament to how powerful he is. An ordinary person like you or me would jump out of Worp, shitting underneath him, with his mind gone and a piece of his soul bitten off by a demon.

This was fanmade and it was all made by one guy, now I don't know a lot about Warhammer 40K, but I can explain a few things. #1: they killed the priestess dude because if they get possessed by a Demon they need to kill them immediately. #2: And for the Space Marines running, yes they can run that fast and thinking you can outrun them will be your last bit of useless hope before you die. (They can run at like 35 to 40 MPH) #3: all of the men that are fighting the space Marines would have next to no chance at even hurting one of the Space Marines.

Yes they have super senses, actually they pretty much have super everything. The Astartes are basically thousands of years of perfected genetic altered, technology enhanced, born and bred super soldiers shoved in super suits that are integrated into their bodies. They can live for thousands of years, heal faster than normal, hear better, see better, have higher touch sensitivity, and so much more. I highly suggest you look into them and the 40k universe. I am a 40k noob but I'm hooked and have fallen in love. If you like sci fi, anime, horror, and great stories, you'll love the 40k universe, its games, and its hundreds of books.

I love to watch people going in blind and react to 40K lore :D "It is the 41st Millennium. For more than a hundred centuries The Emperor has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the Master of Mankind by the will of the gods, and master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology. He is the Carrion Lord of the Imperium for whom a thousand souls are sacrificed every day, so that he may never truly die. Yet even in his deathless state, the Emperor continues his eternal vigilance. Mighty battlefleets cross the daemon-infested miasma of the Warp, the only route between distant stars, their way lit by the Astronomican, the psychic manifestation of the Emperor's will. Vast armies give battle in his name on uncounted worlds. Greatest amongst his soldiers are the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Marines, bio-engineered super-warriors. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Imperial Guard and countless planetary defence forces, the ever vigilant Inquisition and the tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from aliens, heretics, mutants - and worse. *To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable.* These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods."

So those are Astartes, or Space marines. They are human but are also much more. When they were children they were taken and givien implants. They are taller, stronger, faster and on another level when it comes to tactics. They have 2 hearts, 3 lungs, extra organs that do all sorts of things and instead of ribs its a solid breast plate of bone. Their blood clots almost immediately so if they loose a limb they'll continue fighting. They only need maybe 4 hours of sleep every few days. They also go into a coma where their body completely shuts down if they get mortally wounded. It allows them to be found by a medic and healed. That armor is power armor and makes them even more powerful than they already are

so just to put into perspective how powerful these guys are, lets go over the Astartes. Space Marines can be around 8 feet tall, weight upwards of 550 pounds and run at about 35-45 MPH. so lets just be generous. lets say these guys are 7 feet, weight 450 pounds and that guy was running 45 miles an hour. so 7 feet tall,450 pounds and running 45 miles an hour..................and that guy stopped him utterly dead in his tracks. full stop, BAM, stopped that mass. thats how powerful magic users are in this universe.
