Why don't you talk about mercenaries from Romania while they're surrendered in M23 rebels and crossing the board towards Rwanda?
@BlackRootsAcademyOfSoul7 күн бұрын
Mining companies in the DRC have for decades used mercenaries for security. Similarly, hundreds of militias in Eastern DRC are pretty much mercenaries, including M23.

I remember when they wouldn’t give ammo to UN “peacekeepers”, what a mess the UN is. I get it’s complicated from a political standpoint, but it feels like the peacekeepers serve little to no purpose anymore. I feel bad for the troops stationed in these places.

0:53 Why you only mention the South African peacekeepers, there was also one Uruguayan peacekeeper who died, and was one of the crew members of that Armored Vehicle you show in the video, that is a LAV "Mowag Piranha" that is part of the Uruguayan contingent of peacekeepers in the DRC, in the armored vehicle there was 3 more uruguayan soldiers that sustained brutal injuries that almost cost their lives too. So why you don't mention the Uruguayan peacekeepers??, they are the most present in the city of Goma, yet you don't even mention them, why? tell me

Can somebody talk about the real reason M23 fights? You say you’re an expert, from big universities, or research centers. But you clearly are missing an important point here and that is why M23 has been able to take over major areas, the reason why they fight, it’s the injustices that have been going on for years, thus taking up arms. Whether they are backed by Rwanda or not, base reason for rebels to take up arms are their own reasons, if they didn’t exist, then maybe whoever is backing them couldn’t have someone to back. Don’t fuel this conflict, you so called big news outlets

I am south african. Apparently M23 are congolese tutsi rebels. In Rwanda there are Tutsies and Hutus- (genocide 1994). Kinshasa is 1000km from Goma- no decent roads. east side of Kongo is on their own. Lots of minerals close to Goma- Sn mine of Alphamin-Bisie mine and tantalum in other areas. Bisie mine export through Goma to the east coast of Africa.

@derickatuhaire73177 күн бұрын
Do you realise that M23 didn't even kill or use the captured Congolese army as pows but just told them to surrender their weapons to some UN organisation, even generals around East Africa respect that. You have no idea why all of this is happening, please don't argue about something you don't really know about, even if Rwanda was supporting them, I can bet you, President Kagame just wants the hutu rebels defeated, because they ran to Congo with Congo's support and are still committing atrocities against the Tutsi communities in Congo, even if it was me as president, I would have to come in. Bare in mind, anybody that tells you M23 kills randomly, rapes etc is definitely lying and has no idea@@chrissangany8106

Ah, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has a rich history and immense potential, albeit with challenges that have long persisted, especially when it comes to peace and stability. Ensuring peace in Congo is not just about immediate ceasefires or military interventions; it’s also about addressing complex underlying issues such as political instability, ethnic tensions, and economic hardships. Many peacekeeping missions, such as those by the UN, have been actively involved in trying to maintain peace and provide humanitarian aid. Projects that focus on reconciliation, infrastructure development, and empowering local communities can contribute significantly to long-term peace. Do you want to dive into more recent updates or efforts on peacekeeping in the DRC?

@ThomasBriard Un has been the most useless force and the reason is in leadership, not the soldiers, their death comes from protocols where they can't fight in vast majority of situations - that's why they end up dead. Calling people names doesn't change facts - but it does show intelectual dishonesty as ad-hominem is a form of deflection in rhetorics.
