One point I picked from Dele Farotimi defence on all that is going on is that , he said, before the book was published, He fasted and prayed, asking God to keep Afe Babalola alive to see the publication and read it, so that the critics will not say is because Afe is no more that is why Dele is writing what he wrote. Therefore, it will be imperative to assert here that, Dele Farotimi's prayers has also sustain the longevity of BABA Afe's life. God in the other hand has kept him alive to bring this day, when he will be called to amend some mistakes that he has done in secret against humanity for posterity sake. This is a Divine Mandate, so people should be careful.

Dr. Apoki, this was exactly the first thing I said the day the news of Farotimi’s arrest broke out. I was discussing with my friend and I mentioned how we always tried to dissuade our late father from taking certain steps that may bring negative publicity. This matter is common sense and isn’t difficult to figure that these lawyers are only feeding off this negative publicity for their own selfish interest. For me, I never knew about the under table transactions Afe Babalola did and this act of his just affirmed all Farotimi’s claims. His fall will be his belief that he is all there is as far as the law is concerned hence, the high handedness. The reputation is already damaged but to prevent further damage, he should withdraw the case NOW to prevent the cankerworms from surfacing. A word is enough for the wise. No one is too old to be embarrassed or brought down. Only God has that privilege; no other human.

Dr. Apoki I normally agree with you on most of your monologues, however, I beg to differ here. Actions have consequences and if he has chosen to drag Farotimi to court, he should stand ready for whatever consequence as a result, being dragged along as a witness included, in fact, that is what Farotimi should do if that is how it works. He seems to come across as one who doesn't really take advice easily and it might well be that he has prepared himself for whatever fallout, because though aged, he is still compos mentis. At his age he should have realized now that he has most of his years behind him and not ahead; my feeling is that he has come to that realization, I doubt he hasn't. Therefore, if he now chooses to descend into the arena, he should be prepared for ALL collateral damage that comes with it, his legacy be damned, his choice. He should have let sleeping dogs lie and Nigerians would have been none the wiser of whatever Farotimi wrote and alleged, but he didn't. If an elder chooses not to respect himself, he should take whatever he is given as a consequence, reputation damage et al. We want Nigeria to be good yet you advice he saves face? For what, because he is an untouchable elder? No!, it is too late for that now. If Dele Farotimi really can substantiate his claims, he should go on an exposition offensive, FULL exposition; again his legacy be damned. Truth is the only counter to an accusation of defamation, so Farotimi should not pull any punch in exposing him if he has evidences. So I am sorry sir, with all due respect, I do not stand with your line of thinking on this one. Thank you

I have been living outside that cesspool of putrefaction called Nigeria for 25 years. Not once have these men given any hints of advertising themselves, nor did they/have they encouraged that in others. Their humility remain a case study for any man who wishes to advance himself.
