I healed myself with food, and threw my pain medication out. My doctors would have had me in mobility scooter, overweight on all kinds of medication if I didn't take things into my own hands with strict exersise and food. I walk again and I'm off all meds. I'm healthy again.

I always make sure my meat is good ethical practice as much as possible. Try to buy direct from farm or markets. I still take mushroom therapy. Look into mushrooms like chaga. 👍

My (italian) father in law was 85 when the doctor prescribed him his first pills ever. He was upset and threw them away. He has never taken a pill since then. Now he's 95. He still walks about 5 miles a day, eats only fresh regional fruit and veggies, mostly biological from his own crops, very much extra vergin olive oil, very little meat, much fish from his fishermen friends, a good glass of red wine every day and almost no sugar. He still has got some elder brothers living the same way. 😉❤

That is a nice story and I'm glad your father in law is doing so well, but pills can be absolutely essential to staying alive in a lot of cases. For example, someone I know was born with an irregular heart rythm and absolutely needs her pills to live. The same goes for millions of people who would pass away quickly without insulin.

I decided to read the King James and studied the health laws in the old and new testament and gave up unclean meat and any by products and by doing no other changes at that time, lost 35 lb in about 4 months. My thinking was clearer and felt better and more in control health wise. Remember ultimately God is in control and for believers He has an unlimited amount of everything in His storehouse. He is not limited we limit Him.

Dr Chatterjee, thank you so much for having Dr William Li on your show! I have been reading his book ( which is excellent ) but listening to him in person and seeing his passion for the subject is even better . It is wonderful to see two doctors that really care and want to share their knowledge to enable the everyday person to try and look after /heal themselves to the best of their ability. I have spent the last 10 years reading books about cancer as wanted to understand as much as I could about this terrible disease which has carried off a number of people that I cared about . I believe that knowledge is power and can create hope when all seems lost.

@@km376 Sure. I eat all the different vegetables I listed. Most I either microwave just until tender or I Sautee. Every other day I eat 3 eggs, 4 pc bacon.. Thee other days I eat a couple of veg and meat. Meat is so Important for protein. My major meal a day between 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The bacon I eat is from a local meat shop. It is just pure bacon with no additives or smoke. A slice of bacon has about 58 calories but it has enough fat to stop cravings. I use olive oil to cook, and to brush my teeth. One very important thing is getting potassium, magnesium and zinc. Your body needs 4,700mg of potassium a day. I take potassium, magnesium supplements and use electrolyte powders after I work out. I started out using 1.5 lb weights. I am now up to 5 lb weights and 25 reps per exercise. I focus on core and upper body. Exercise to build muscle. When I go to the gym I use the treadmill for about 30 minutes to warm up. One very important lesson I learned is caffeine is not your friend. COFFEE = HIGH CORTISOL = HIGH INSULIN = FAT STORAGE.(for women). It doesn't seem to have that affect on men. I worked very hard to lose weight. When I quit coffee success came. I lost over 30 inches over all. Back fat, arm fat, thigh fat. It just started coming off. I lost 55 lbs. In 120 days. I went from a 2xplus size to a large misses. I take vitamins and supplements from Life Extension Foundation. The have very pure and proven products. I'm at more than 290 days on this journey. For me this is jot a diet! It is a lifestyle change. I put all these daily supplements in a jar on my kitchen cabinet. I just take a few every time I go by the counter. Last check up BP good. A1c good.. I had a CAC test which showed zero arterial sclerosis. I had to demand the CAC test because insurance doesn't pay for it. The cardiologist started out telling me I had a 45% chance of heart disease because I am 75. When I have muscle soreness from working out I take MSM 1,000 mg. Through the weight and resistance Training I have strengthen my core, legs and improved my balance. I have lost 30 inches over all, but still battling belly fat. I have to say the intermittent fasting and the once a month 72 hour fast to autophagy have been very helpful in my journey. Sadly, I did not get this advice from my doctors. I researched and watched videos and researched some more. Life Extension Foundation has been a wealth of research data and very high quality products. I have been using their products since 2015.

@@km376 For a clue, look at the difference in the meat from a grain fed steer or a grass fed steer. The grain fed has large quantities of fat through the flesh, around the organs etc. Check out Dr Eric Berg and his videos on fasting and intermittent fasting and especially the Keto dietary regime, the problem people have with weight is sugar (which is hidden in so many products ) and carbohydrates especially highly processed such as breads. They turn into sugar rapidly and if not burned up by activity immediately are stored as fat. That stored fat will never be burned up as long as there is sugar available even if just stored in the liver

These podcasts are so interesting and informative. The one thing I've learned over the years is that my body's ability to use whatever food I give it is dependent on how, when, and why. As a person who survived a brutal round of Crohn's disease I'm already at a disadvantage with less bowel surface to work with, but I've been able to eat less than optimal foods with an open mind and in good company. It also happens that when I'm totally shut down, isolated or frantic, the best foods will not stick and actually cause harm. Most of you already know this and not a few scientists too.

@@SeaFlower38 Thank you! I’m recovering from breast implant illness and mold toxicity, and have been I’ll for almost 20 years after I had implants put in. How stupid was I? It ruined my life, but I had NO idea what was making me so sick, until someone called my daughter and said he thought I had that. So, I have been on a grain, dairy, sugar, soy, corn, peanut-free diet for the past 5 years. I love ice cream, but I only let myself have a little on special occasions. I’ve had my grown son living here for the past year and a half because he has been suicidal, and his house with his father is full of mold. It turns out, after seeing an MD who is a certified mold specialist and does functional medicine, that he was bitten by some insect that left him with a hidden bacteria. The mold at his father’s house lowered his immune system and 3 types of biting insect disease manifested. He’s so very I’ll, and has had meningoencephalitis at age 7 several severe TBIs, and now this. His depression and anxiety are over the top. I’m glad I’ve been feeding him a healthy diet, but his father brings over fast foods and I feel sabotaged.I’m going to check out this diet you mentioned. He’s supposed to be on a low amylose diet. Yayee, great job. I love gunpowder green tea. The trick is not to use totally boiling water, but water from a pot that has started to “hiss” and steam a little. it’s nice and smoky and like autumn leaves, bitter but in a good way. i do add stevia. Beets, beet greens, raw ginger, liver and parsley seem to all have an immediate noticeable effect for the good on my whole system, even mood. As a recent caregiver for 2 good old parents riddled with problems, I found it a challenge to sneak healthy food into their suppers but it seemed to help them. But each stint in a hospital or rehab or senior care facility showed me what our world still thinks rational (or cheap?) to offer anyone ailing-corn syrup, white flour, sloppy Joe’s, pizza, tater tots, whipped potatoes, corn starch pudding and tons of sugary koolaid with nice bright dyes added.

I have joints and tendons inflammation s a result an inherited FMF. I’m on a regular medical consultation in a hospital where I’m very happy with , however no one advised me about nutrition despite my several inquiries. After long research I have done , I decided to start with fasting th do called 8/16 . I eat in a window time of only 8 hours having 2 meals a day with reduced carbohydrate , gluten and lactose free diet intake . I eat plenty of green veggies an berries . After 2 months I lost 11 kg .From 59 kg to 48 kg with a height of 168 cm. I have to be careful no that I don’t lose further weight as I’m now very underweight . But they good thing is the inflammation has drastically subsided. Hence, I believe that fasting has helped me a lot.

Or just the orange n strawberry juice . And rink. I prefer centralized juicer. I have used VITAMIX and blend it to full I can drink it this way. . Grapes excellent source . Get a juice book of recipes. They used to tell you what good the fruit/ vegetable is good to heal the body or how to rid your symptoms. . My favorite is breville juicer. Next is jack o lane juicer ( wide opening) . It does the job, you still loose some juice. Breville you get all the juice no pulp!😀☕️

I appreciate scholar like Dr. Li explained clearly why inflammation is critical to life (like all the other processes going on in our bodies), and the only problem with inflammation is that when it becomes chronic and poorly regulated. There are so many misguided folks out there making comments on YT saying inflammation is always bad, omega 6 fatty acid is always bad, etc. etc., not realizing that life can’t happen if we don’t have essential fatty acids or certain life processes are missing (due to genetic defects for example).

My God! Both of you are really logical, knowledgeable and full of inspiration to human survival. Why do not get general practitioners like you guys. They are the first point of contact for any illness, sickness etc. who would treat us.

I ❤ Dr Lee...He changed my health life on his presentation of angiogenesis and I would say saved my life from having to get a full hysterectomy, thyroidectomy and possibly a mastectomy.... in 2009 I was looking at the possibility of having all three of those types of surgeries after listening to Dr Lee presentation of angiogenesis it is 2022 I did not have a hysterectomy I chose not to have a thyroidectomy or a mastectomy I'm still intact.

I healed myself of Hepatitis b with food alone. Doctors told me I'd never get rid of it. Never went back to that doctor again either.

Reverted my type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and a whole host of other problems by adopting a low carb, whole food, fasting lifestyle. Get off your butt, learn to cook, eat well and get back to enjoying your life.

@@323Records I am 56. Try to avoid sugar, processed carbs and starchy vegetables. Fruit is sugar so keep it to a minimum. If you're going to eat a processed carb, have it at the end of your meal. If you drink sugary beverages or beer, that's a ton of carbs. Try skipping a meal like breakfast each day and don't snack after dinner. Start slow but work your way up to doing a period extended fast of 36, 42 or 48 hours. If you can shrink your eating window between 8 to 6 hours, and do an extended fast once a month, you should start seeing your BP come down. Mine was 150+/90+. Now it's more like 100-110/60-80. Just know the extended fast is your most powerful tool in your toolbox to correct your health problems.
