@@km376 Sure. I eat all the different vegetables I listed. Most I either microwave just until tender or I Sautee. Every other day I eat 3 eggs, 4 pc bacon.. Thee other days I eat a couple of veg and meat. Meat is so Important for protein. My major meal a day between 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The bacon I eat is from a local meat shop. It is just pure bacon with no additives or smoke. A slice of bacon has about 58 calories but it has enough fat to stop cravings. I use olive oil to cook, and to brush my teeth. One very important thing is getting potassium, magnesium and zinc. Your body needs 4,700mg of potassium a day. I take potassium, magnesium supplements and use electrolyte powders after I work out. I started out using 1.5 lb weights. I am now up to 5 lb weights and 25 reps per exercise. I focus on core and upper body. Exercise to build muscle. When I go to the gym I use the treadmill for about 30 minutes to warm up. One very important lesson I learned is caffeine is not your friend. COFFEE = HIGH CORTISOL = HIGH INSULIN = FAT STORAGE.(for women). It doesn't seem to have that affect on men. I worked very hard to lose weight. When I quit coffee success came. I lost over 30 inches over all. Back fat, arm fat, thigh fat. It just started coming off. I lost 55 lbs. In 120 days. I went from a 2xplus size to a large misses. I take vitamins and supplements from Life Extension Foundation. The have very pure and proven products. I'm at more than 290 days on this journey. For me this is jot a diet! It is a lifestyle change. I put all these daily supplements in a jar on my kitchen cabinet. I just take a few every time I go by the counter. Last check up BP good. A1c good.. I had a CAC test which showed zero arterial sclerosis. I had to demand the CAC test because insurance doesn't pay for it. The cardiologist started out telling me I had a 45% chance of heart disease because I am 75. When I have muscle soreness from working out I take MSM 1,000 mg. Through the weight and resistance Training I have strengthen my core, legs and improved my balance. I have lost 30 inches over all, but still battling belly fat. I have to say the intermittent fasting and the once a month 72 hour fast to autophagy have been very helpful in my journey. Sadly, I did not get this advice from my doctors. @@km376 For a clue, look at the difference in the meat from a grain fed steer or a grass fed steer. The grain fed has large quantities of fat through the flesh, around the organs etc. Check out Dr Eric Berg and his videos on fasting and intermittent fasting and especially the Keto dietary regime, the problem people have with weight is sugar (which is hidden in so many products ) and carbohydrates especially highly processed such as breads. They turn into sugar rapidly and if not burned up by activity immediately are stored as fat. That stored fat will never be burned up as long as there is sugar available even if just stored in the liver

These podcasts are so interesting and informative. The one thing I've learned over the years is that my body's ability to use whatever food I give it is dependent on how, when, and why. As a person who survived a brutal round of Crohn's disease I'm already at a disadvantage with less bowel surface to work with, but I've been able to eat less than optimal foods with an open mind and in good company. It also happens that when I'm totally shut down, isolated or frantic, the best foods will not stick and actually cause harm. Most of you already know this and not a few scientists too.

Dr. Li is such a clear and interesting speaker, and explains his work so well! As cancer has appeared frequently in my family, I have always been interested in cutting edge approaches. This is the first one that I've come across that shows actual science to support the ideas of nutrition based approaches.... not just treatments, but prevention. Yayee, great job. I love gunpowder green tea. The trick is not to use totally boiling water, but water from a pot that has started to “hiss” and steam a little. it’s nice and smoky and like autumn leaves, bitter but in a good way. i do add stevia. Beets, beet greens, raw ginger, liver and parsley seem to all have an immediate noticeable effect for the good on my whole system, even mood. As a recent caregiver for 2 good old parents riddled with problems, I found it a challenge to sneak healthy food into their suppers but it seemed to help them. But each stint in a hospital or rehab or senior care facility showed me what our world still thinks rational (or cheap?) to offer anyone ailing-corn syrup, white flour, sloppy Joe’s, pizza, tater tots, whipped potatoes, corn starch pudding and tons of sugary koolaid with nice bright dyes added.

I’m on a regular medical consultation in a hospital where I’m very happy with , however no one advised me about nutrition despite my several inquiries. After long research I have done , I decided to start with fasting th do called 8/16 . I eat in a window time of only 8 hours having 2 meals a day with reduced carbohydrate , gluten and lactose free diet intake . I eat plenty of green veggies an berries . After 2 months I lost 11 kg .From 59 kg to 48 kg with a height of 168 cm. I have to be careful no that I don’t lose further weight as I’m now very underweight . But they good thing is the inflammation has drastically subsided. Hence, I believe that fasting has helped me a lot.

The medicine improved the heartburn but I gained a ton of weight. I went up to 226 lbs. when I started using apple cider vinegar and started improving my diet I am now 195lbs. I attribute my health and weight loss to improving digestion with apple cider vinegar, intermittent fasting and better food choices. @@323Records I am 56. Try to avoid sugar, processed carbs and starchy vegetables. Fruit is sugar so keep it to a minimum. If you're going to eat a processed carb, have it at the end of your meal. If you drink sugary beverages or beer, that's a ton of carbs. Try skipping a meal like breakfast each day and don't snack after dinner. Start slow but work your way up to doing a period extended fast of 36, 42 or 48 hours. If you can shrink your eating window between 8 to 6 hours, and do an extended fast once a month, you should start seeing your BP come down. Mine was 150+/90+. Now it's more like 100-110/60-80.
