Wow, an excellent piece of writing by the author C.D. Willard. Hats off to you for the most believable of all Kraken tales. And with it ending much differently than most. To our great Dr Creepen, as usual, an incredible delivery of this story to the point where I felt as if I were on the ships. Awesome job gentleman! 👍👍👍👍👍

SO i got to say, i love the Old school feel of this story. it doesnt try to go for what passes as horror now adays. i find the deeply unsettling stories more interesting then the jump scare stories and this one hit JUST the right note. my boyfriend's added it to his listening list already, and i hope i can find more like this. THis was a great introduction to your channel for me, and i see myself here for some time to come.

I TRUELY hope you read this, and understand completely that YOU have played a huge role in saving my life. Thats no joke. I wish i could send you something that would reflect even a portion of what your narration, and the stories these folks have provided you to narrate, was worth. If someday, i can get things turned back around, i will try, though i cant put a dollar amount to what youve done for me. What is a life worth? For now, i just hope you see this, and understand your worth to me, and how grateful i am for what you do. Thanks again Doc. 🙇‍♂️

Can someone clarify when this was set¿ it never says in the story, and I really struggle to get into a story when i’m not sure on the setting. It names things like a ‘lighter’, ‘destroyer’ and the uniforms seem like they may be from the late 20th century, but then the boats are all sail boats, and they’re not sure what an orangutan is.. does anyone have a clue?

I can only agree with you to the highest degree. I’m still having a very hard time believing that any weapon able to be shouldered by a man, doing even the minimum damage to such a beast. Possibly, just possibly, an M-60 with six rotating barrels unleashing a non stop spray of lead, anything less would just irritate it. So depth charges indeed!

The Destroyer names are off. US Navy Destroyers are named after people, not battles - USS Bennington would be a Spanish American War era gunboat, not a Destroyers. If the author wanted to keep the name Bennington, they should have given the ship a first name.

I really don't like these stories. They are too verbose, but not in a good way. You've been doing so many like this one lately, I've really been enjoying the channel less and less. :/ It saddens me bc I love listening to the doc! But the story choices have really been sub par overall. I've read my share of older literature that is exactly this type of verbose, and some is so masterfully done that it is a pleasure to read. These are not. The characters are predictable archetypes, and the verbosity doesn't allow any kind of dread or suspense to mount. I hate the constant damsels in distress. I really wish the channel would do SO many less of these and get back to the scarier & more dramatic fare.
@jeremyw.norwood1453
@jeremyw.norwood1453 3 жыл бұрын
I sadly must agree somewhat with your opinion regarding the overall quality of the tales with which the channel has regaled us in the past few months my friend... I mean, I personally dig "verbosity" when it is done right & is in the pursuit of a story containing an excellent plot line... Yet, it is more than just a little tedious to trudge through such stylistic choices only to discover that the final payoff for one's efforts of investment are only a disappointingly generic story narrative which is so blatantly predictable & forgettable that it is one of those which, ultimately, shall simply wind up leaving one feeling utterly underwhelmed & disillusioned by the entirety of the experience.
@Ela.elizabeth

@@jeremyw.norwood1453 - Agreed. I suggest you check out MrBlackPasta, he is unbelievably talented. Others I really enjoy are Creepy Ghost Stories, Lighthouse Horror, Romnex, Spirit Voices, and Operation Insanity. One channel that usually only reads stories submitted specifically to him, which are all Criptid related, are "Dead Man Talkings Forest of Fear" (it's a mouth full.) haha!
