Where is the genius? any singer Belter can press those notes, that's all.

You were right in recognizing the different font, but that's all that was. Just as there are countless different fonts in English, there are countless fonts in Korean, as well as in probably any other written language. She's singing only in Korean and English, except for that little part where she throws in a bit of Swahili, but she sneaks that in so expertly that it goes over most people's heads, except for to Liechtensteiners, who for some reason always catch any sundry Swahili sung by any singer anywhere...

@kuiter27246 ай бұрын
I highly recommend that you watch the video for the English translation of the Korean lyrics to this song, because it sounds completely different when you know and hear the meaning of the lyrics. Especially the part where he speaks and sings like a monologue at the end of the 6-minute rollercoaster is the highlight of the song and gives you the meaning of the song title. For reference, I'll leave you with a comment from my other review video of this song. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you look closely at the lyrics of this song, you can see that Sohyang's life and confession of faith are all contained. God, who cured cancer and gave a new life that he had visited in her early 20s, and Sohyang, who decided to sing for him for the rest of her life. So, the emotions contained in this song are the true feelings of Sohyang, so even those who listen to the song can feel the emotions as they are if they are immersed a little bit, so they have no choice but to shed tears. As a side note, this song is also one of Sohyang's most difficult songs to sing due to its 7-minute length and extreme singing technique and difficulty, so it has actually only been sung and performed on stage once so far in the video. The audience in the video are the luckiest people in Korea to hear this song live.

This is Sohyang's trademark performance and, In this case, Not always, but in this case it is imperative that you see the lyrics. Reactors think she is agonizing with grief in the first two segments of this song. If you see the lyrics, you realize that she is preaching a sweet sermon. TOO bad. My suggestion? Always search for an English subtitles version. Cheers.

I enjoyed your analysis and high evaluation of her. However, there is one objection. There was a mention that the pitch was slightly lowered, but I don't think so. As a result of experiencing more than hundreds of her songs, I am proud to know her performance well, but she has a problem with pitch anxiety at times, which is common to singers with a wide range. It is not difficult to find pitch anxiety in the middle and low tones when her condition is bad, but as a soprano, she has the best strengths in high tones and has health issues at times, but when she is in good condition, she is almost the world's unbeatable singer. Even by looking at her face back then, she looks good, and I am sure that the note pointed out was accurately sung or that she sang it on purpose to enhance the taste if so by any chance. As a person who is sensitive to pitch, I am saying this because there was no disturbing sound when I first heard it. In other words, it is not a mistake area that corresponds to the beauty of the performance at least. AFAIc, The original song was a grand song for the international music festival competition that began to be sung in Korea in the 70s, and now it is a song that she dramatically invigorated by dusting off the boring song that has remained a legend that no one wants to hear any more, and this generation wanted to hear it. Like the case of making her own by recreating like , , and , which are no longer preferred because of boredom.

I completely agree! So Hyang's talent goes far beyond just belting. Even a single performance can showcase her incredible range, control, and emotional depth. It's clear that she pours her heart and soul into every song. Anyone who takes the time to truly listen to her will quickly realise how extraordinary she is. It wasn't off but it wasn't at the center of the pitch. Everybody sings off key if you judge them by the standard of autotuned vocals. A famous KZbin music analyst said it best (tongue in cheek of course) "before 1998 everybody sang out of tune". 1998 was the year that autotune was introduced to the masses with Cher's "Believe".
