Your new place looks retro. I love that ! The door knobs look to be old-fashioned glass ones. Places built many decades ago are built so much better than new ones. Our house was built in the 1890's. Looks like you have plenty of storage closets. That's so helpful !! I love your expression..."sloosh it down the drain". I agree. It's maddening when a product just falls in a glop on the tub floor ! Dr. Dray your hardwood floors, tiling, & built-ins in your new home are beautiful. Exactly the kind, & age of home I would also look for.❤ Btw, I have no tatoos because I'm not crazy about them. Yet, I don't begrudge anyone who does choose to have tatoos. I also feel having a permanent tatoo (although I know they can possibly be removed with much effort) is something one could very likely regret as they go through different stages of their lives. I'm a medical professional and have seen some tatoos on elderly men & women. Let's just say over time, and with the natural skin & body changes most people have as they age, most tatoos don't usually age well.

lol! This is exactly the reason I never got a tattoo. I have seen too many older folks with their tattoos not looking great and it was a great reminder to stay from any ink myself. I do love them on other folks and think they are very cool.

I had the opposite reaction. I love seeing older peoples tattoos and hearing about them. Even if they look not so great anymore I always think it’s fun and interesting. And people would be shocked by some of the tattoos I’ve seen on sweet old ladies I hospital gowns. 😂

I have seven tattoos on my ankle, my hip near the front bone, my back, both sides of my ribs, and the back of my neck. I got the first one when I was 22, and the last one when I was 41. I got each of them to commemorate different points or people in my life. I love them!

I never would’ve thought of getting a tattoo, however when my mother passed away I felt inspired to get a butterfly tattoo on the back of my shoulder. Kind of symbolically reminds me that she’s always with me.

Congratulations on your new beautiful home Dr. Dray! It reminds me of my first home that my husband and I bought right before we got married in 1999, an old 1920’s English Tutor. Quaint, quiet and peaceful with many memories made by the original owner and her family, now passed to another family to make more memories. Every home has a story, a past and a future. Beautiful hardwood floors and black bullnose tiles in the bathroom (we had the same). Craftsmanship at its best! Wishing you all the best and enjoy making new memories in your new home. My grandmother had a large arm tattoo. I was fascinated with it. In my 50th birthday I got my first one with my boys names on it on my upper thigh. Then I got a memorial tattoo for my parents with their names on my right calf. I then do a butterfly on my shoulder for me. I love them.

My Dad was tattooed…not uncommon amongst sailors. We went to a beach club on the Jersey shore and, in the 1970s, boys were intrigued by his ink. They’d ask him to make his “lady” dance! He passed away just last month and I already miss him and his tattoos so much. ❤

I’ve incorporated sunscreen into my daily routine and I wish I would have started sooner. You can get a wall mount for fire extinguishers so they don't take up space. I have one tattoo, I wouldn't get another but I also don't regret the one I have at all. It reminds me a carefree time in life when I was younger and didn't take life so seriously. It serves as a good reminder and always makes me smile when I look at it and remember that crazy carefree girl.

I have 2. 1 is a rosary memorial tattoo for my Dad after he passed. The other one is a claddagh that my (now ex) husband and I got matching tattoos. I think about 1 more, a black cat for my fur baby that crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago. Love tattoos! Your bedroom looks very zen and I love the glass knobs. Your new home seems to have a lit of vintage features which I love. As for tattoos, I have a set of paw prints on my shoulder and a blue heron on my calf. I'm a veterinary technician and love animals so that's why I have the paw prints and the blue heron is my favorite water bird. We call them Johnny Cranes where I live. Love the house--the bath tile is lovely and all the doors cannot be replicated today--a true gem! I've wondered for years why you chose the apartment life. I'm sure you feel the comfort that this home provides. I know you are enjoying it. And it fits you. The only thing I would suggest is marble with some blue or green veins in it as your kitchen countertop and a room color painted backsplash. This would fit the vintage feel. And vintage and coastal mix very well together. Many years of happiness in your new home.

I got my first tattoo when I turned 30, then my next 4 about 5 years ago at age 55. I absolutely love every one of my tattoos. They each have a different meaning to me. My next one will be a matching one with my oldest son that I’m getting done next week. 😊 Edit- I love your new home. I’m picky about packaging too. I hate jars! They are a mess. If a product is in a jar I move along especially if it’s something that is used in the bath or shower. I love tubes and pumps. Stays clean and easy to use. Happy Sunday 🩷

@Dr Dray you’re right about the tattoos not being legal for a long time in SC. I’m from SC and when I got my one and only tattoo when I was younger, I had to go to NC. They passed legislation in 2004 for tattoos in SC but it is still prohibited to get tattoos from the neck up I’m pretty sure.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the vintage vibe of your new place! I'm so happy for you!!! I enjoyed your tattoo topic, as I was in the rock-n-roll world for years (and I'm not THAT old), and very few women had tattoos at that time. I feel that around the year 2000 is when tattoos became trendy--first with the little butterflies and hearts in inconspicuous places and then it morphed into a trend. Because of that, I was turned off, as the novelty had worn off. Thanks for all you do!

I usually stay in offices longer than a year but it seems that I'm going to be moving again in a few weeks so I'm so happy that I kept my boxes and a storage facility. They are still labeled and hopefully that'll make it so much easier packing. I'm calling the moving truck much earlier this time. It was a nightmare last year with all of the bad weather and cancellations and having to wait for them to get everyone rescheduled while at the same time you have to be out of that office by a certain day

Idk but i love tube packaging but i prefer a sunscreen with a pump 😊❤ it just works for me more not that the tube in the sunscreen is bad but it's more common here in Greece to put sunscreen in a tube rather than a pump bottle 😅. In terms of tattoos I have a sleeve, inner forearm on the opposite arm and a piece on my thigh. I was raised Christian but here we are and I didn’t end up crazy and my parents still love me so I’m one of the lucky ones 😅

The only one I am having removed is a very small one on my finger - not because I regret it, but because the artist insisted it be touched up because it was on my finger, and the touch up caused it to "bleed".

After 30 years of neutrals I need real colors now. As far as tattoos go, I think I have MCAS, so the less stuff I put in and on my body the better.

I do not have a tatoo. Thought about getting a bunny with water tiger striping about 20 + years ago. I inquired with a tatoo artist and he refused. I wanted it in the arch of my foot.😂 (As My little secret.) I think that some can be absolutely stunning in their artistry. I saw one many years ago of japanese pearl divers in an ocean scene with a water dragon. The most beautiful work of art! It could have been on canvas so beautiful. And the coloring, white even, I did not think it was possible to use colors like that. Dr. Drey, you seem utterly thrilled with your new home.
