I JUST got my first order from Yesstyle because of your recommendations. I'm on day 2 of wearing it, but I already LOVE the Hada Labo sunscreen. I love how it makes my skin feel even after removing it and its so easy to put on. Because it's so moisturizing, I appreciate that I no longer have to put on some moisturizer, let it dry, and then put on my sunscreen. This will be great for winter when I don't have to worry about sweating.

Japanese sunscreen are advanced in terms of technology. I live in Tokyo and feel blessed to have easy access to them. With regards to skin care I tend to lean toward the ones from the US because I can read the labels and there are many youtube reviews to give you an idea whereas Japanese brand reviews are available only in Japanese and there aren’t that many reviewers I find. Cosmetics reviewers are plenty though. Also, most Japanese brands cater to native Japanese so are limiting for a brown girl both in skin care and cosmetics which is unfortunate for me because I have always wanted to try more brands from here

Thanks for showing us the “I’m from” brand. I’ve never heard of it and would like to give it a whirl. Also, Japanese uses linear/square-type Chinese-style writing characters like 日本語 while Korean Hangul, like the word for lotion ( 외용 물약 ) tends to have more circle-like characters in it. Japanese writing also has kana (かな) along with the kanji (Chinese characters), which is often how you can tell the difference between Chinese and Japanese.

Japanese uses kana and kanji (Chinese characters, though they don't always share the same meaning as they do in China), and Korea uses Hangul.

I looooove biore uv watery essence aqua rich. It's literally the best spf I've ever used. The alcohol smell is quite potent but it doesn't dry my skin out at all. Would recommend!

@@wokeupcute I use a cotton sheet from White Rabbit but you could use a cotton ball/pad or even pool a dime size amount in your palms and pat it on your face and neck. Using a cotton pad or ball will get off any excess dirt you may have missed from washing though. Apply it after washing and before any serums or your moisturizer. I also apply this particular toner around my eyes (I would not use most toners for the eyes) because it is so mild and moisturizing. I hope you love it as much as I do!

I have been using the I Am From Rice Toner for the last 6+ months or so, I just finished my first bottle. Halfway through my first bottle I was so impressed with it I ordered 2 more bottles in case it sold out (happy I got the glass ones before their recent change to plastic). It instantly replaced any lost moisture after washing my face or doing my monthly AHA mask. I am totally hooked on this one. It makes my skin so balanced and dewey and mixes well with my other skincare. I have had no irritation with the long term use so far. I feel over time along with using vitamin C serum and another serum with licorice root and other lightening ingredients my malasma has faded so much. Keeps my mature skin clear, even toned and youthfully hydrated. I would recommend this for us 50s+ mature skin folks. It seems to contain ingredients that would help anyone's skin at any age. It is the best "toner" I have ever used!

For morning and night moisturiser, I use Neutrogena Hydro Boost (yes, with fragrance as I live in 100% humidity and can't deal with "moisture" sitting on my skin) as this absorbs immediately and keeps my skin super moist. *Would LOVE to see* if Kose Moisture Mild White is closer to the fragrance Neutrogena or is a duplicate of the non-fragrance. If a dup of the fragrance (just without any), then I'd happily switch to Kose until forever.

I love this centella ampoule, pretty sure I had mentioned it already in one of the comments already. There is so much product I happily reapply it throughout the day for extra moisture. Also use it for hair ends and scalp. I repurchased Iunik Beta Glucan it’s on the way to me with a ton of other products from YS. If you like rice products try 9wishes rice series, toner, serum, cream (if you haven’t tried yet), I think they will be right up your street.

I’ve been using the I’m From Rice Toner, mugwort mask, mugwort essence and honey mask for over a year. Love these products and so cost effective. I have tried some of their other lines but they weren’t as beneficial for my skin. The neogen toner isn’t a dupe for SKII but many similar benefits and a much better cost. Another brand to try is Purito which has several fragrance free options as alternatives to some of their popular products.

I love the pink village 11 sunscreen...it does have fragrance too...but it is a physical sunscreen and has calamine in it that kind of prevents a white cast...I prefer it over the purito physical sunscreen

Hi from Japan. Thanks for the review. I’ve been using Kose products a lot, especially the white moisture gel. Light texture and well moisturing. The UV gel’s feature is its light texture; and removable with soap. There’s a super waterproof version of this product. (Checked the product website 😊) Happy that you like these products! Apparently there’s a cool new sunscreen called Keep Cool Bamboo Essence SPF50 or something along those lines. I think it would be a cool thing to order if there’s a next time although I must say it is quite expensive for the amount you recieve!

That I'm From Rice Mask is lovely, apart from the scratchy scrub particles, so sharp! I use it as a leave on treatment and try to wash it off very gently, without any scrubbing.... Weird thing about this brand's masks is that even though I find them heavily fragranced, they caused no irritation so far. Their Honey Mask soothes my reactive, dry, sensitive skin like nothing else.

I love J and K beauty! So glad to see this 🤗. I am loving the Artimesia essence from Missha. Thanks for doing that video. I used it after I did the peel from Exuviance (thanks again) and it really helped calm the prickly skin feeling. The I’m From rice toner is nice. Not as moisturizing but definitely brightening. I recommend Kanebo's Allie sunscreens and Shiseido's Anessa line. They are two of the best selling sunscreens in Japan and East Asia. They have fragrance-free options and some of the products are very water-resistant.

i absolutely love iunik moisturizers. i have the centella gel cream, black snail cream and the beta glucan cream and i just ordered the propolis one because youre the third person today to say its absolutely amazing. i ha ve the madagascar centella ampoule and i cant tell if it does anything even though ive been using it for a month morning and night. i dont think ill buy it again. i want to try the i am from mugwort because you speak so highly of it buuuuuutttt.... its not expensive but its not exactly cheap. i love the price point of iunik. i have the biore uv aqua rich watery essence sunscreen and i LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

I love the Kose suncut UV gel in the blue tube on my body, but I think it does have clematis vitalba extract, old man's beard extract, and very occasionally I get small patches of allergies that are a bit itchy after I've applied the sunscreen for a few hours. If they would remove that extract among a few random herbal extracts it would make it the perfect everyday sunscreen for me.

hey! I've actually been using the I'm From Rice Toner and I'm loving it for some extra hydration before i put my serums or moisturiser on. It adds a nice feeling to the skin and I feel like it has a brightening effect and adds a nice glow.

I absolutely adore South Korea skincare and sunscreens. At least 95% of my AM and PM routines consist of these. I much prefer the IUNIK Beta Gloucan than hyaluronic acid. Purito has many wonderful products too. In my very humble opinion, I think their formulations are so beautiful. Like you, YT vids introduced me to South Korea, otherwise I would never have known.

Dr. Dray, are you aware of the Korean skincare and cosmetics store "Olive Young" in Korea? Well, they just recently went global and now they ship to the US. In addition to having a lot of the products from YESSTYLE, their turnaround time is MUCH shorter, prices cheaper, and you can bet it's the real thing. Olive Young in Korea is the equivalent of Ulta in the States and I highly recommend purchasing from that website as an alternative.

Also Sokoglam, wishtrend, and Stylevana are wonderful places to order from too. 😁

@@johnnvogt I don't know about Sokoglam since I haven't ordered from them but Wishtrend has similar delivery times as Yesstyle and they have a limited product inventory. As for Stylevana, I think they're awful! Their prices may be cheap but you can't trust their inventory statuses on their website. I'm still waiting on two orders that were submitted a month ago and they've already contacted me twice about backorders. Olive Young is the gold standard in Korea, the only caveat being their skincare is mostly K-Beauty although they do have some Japanese, European, and American products. I've repeatedly ordered from them since they launched global and it only takes a week to get my order.

miryeongk I’ve only ordered from Yesstyle and Wishtrend before and they took awhile to get to me in the US. I probably should have clarified that. I meant they’re wonderful places bc they sell a variety of products not specifically bc I ordered from them lol. That’s good to know about Stylevana and I’m sorry your orders are taking so long. I’ve wanted to order from Olive Young but there’s not a ton of brands I’m familiar with or have heard from, I guess that just makes it more fun to discover new products, not so good for my wallet though. 😅

I have used the Neogen ferment essence and Iunik beta glucan. Both are excellent for hydration and the beta glucan soothes my skin a lot together with the use of a fermented green tea serum of Tosowoong (you have to try that). The ingredients of that green tea serum are super nice too 👍🏼 I did planned to order skin1004 centella ampoule at first but it said 21 days in stock so I picked a pure fermented centella essence from Milky Piggy. Sadly it has irritated my skin...I wonder why coz I have no problem with non-fermented centella 😰 Next on my wish list: Ample:N Ceramide Shot Ampoule (excellent ingredients to soothe and repair skin barrier)

I use Cos De Baha serums which are Korean, and they are often formulated with a lot of active ingredients. For example I use their niacinimide/salicylic acid serum for pores, so I'd like to see what you think of their range.
