The herb does synergise with spice/seasonings but it also technically acts as a balancing mechanic for the log that grows herbs. The chance to grow "useless" items means the log isnt too OP.

one of my favorite things is the pickaxe. if you get a kill with it, it gives gems. use the gems to boost it, and consistantly get better and better damage. then swap it for an insane weapon once you set up god boosts

20:08 Kinda surprised you sold the legendary energy coin without giving it any thought. With how your backpack was set up it was basically just a 2 space permanent +1 energy buff if you put in the top left and made the space two to the right of it empty.

One of my funnest runs was where I used a mana + bow/arrow build. Got the ring that gave adjacent/diagonal weapons +2 damage and used it on 3 arrows. Combine that with like 20 mana and the damage quickly got insane, along with other damage buffs + extra energy

I did that with the ring that adds +1 rage per mana and then just stacked a bunch of arrows and mana, ended up doing like 40 damage per arrow and eventually died to the endless mode fire geckos.

Glad to see the FISH getting attention. GO SLAP EM WITH A FISHING BOAT. Small nitpick (but isnt there always one, cant satisfy everyone): It hurt that there's the two-wide fish on the left that could have been replaced with the smaller fish. But overall it is not hard to not mess up fish build just for beating floor 9, so it's all fine and dandy. It's not like we're minmaxing for endless just yet and more on synergy exploration. Tip for redoing fish build: Soup would give you plenty of passive healing as you consume fish to get fish. Something to share: There are armors that give evade. I find that these plus some evade potions are perfect for glass cannon builds.

Rage is good for multiple weapons like shiv, archer, or cleaver builds. For a single weapon it’s best to get either +5 damage for high dps weapons or poison 2 for slow scaling weapons

Rage is also decent for on kill effect weapons. You put +rage on your main weapon, and the secondary finisher weapon has a higher range it can kill at.

So I decided to do the math here, because Tyler wanted to know which was better +5 Damage or +1 Rage. Turn 1: 15 Flat Damage or 3 Rage Turn 2: 30 Flat Damage or 5 Rage Turn 3: 45 Flat Damage or 7 Rage Rage decreases by 1 every Turn, but then increases by 3 if you spend all your energy on it. (Net of 2) Whereas the +5 is simply more damage no matter what. So what I think is: For singular weapons +5 damage is best, but with multiple weapons (think like 10 or how many you want daggers) then Rage is better because it stacks on all weapons used. *And if I'm wrong then please correct me.* Turn 4: 60 Damage or 9 Rage Turn 5: 75 Damage or 11 Rage Turn 6: 90 Damage or 13 Rage Turn 7: 105 Damage or 15 Rage Turn 8: 120 Damage or 17 Rage Turn 9: 135 Damage or 19 Rage Turn 10: 150 Damage or 21 Rage

Using your math for rage (total damage calculated) Turn 1: +3 damage (+1, +2) Turn 2: +12 damage (+2, +3, +4) Turn 3: +27 damage (+4, +5, +6) Turn 4: +48 damage (+6, +7, +8) Turn 5: +75 damage (+8, +9, +10) So if the battle lasts more than 5 turns (aasuming all 3 hits per turn) then rage is better for single hits

Just as a general tip, in the early floors, specifically at 9:15, those two enemies are cowardly and will run away if you kill the big enemy. I dont think you'll gain xp for them running away though.

Haste is +block for EACH item givnig block. so if you have an armor, helm and boot, each get +haste block(so tripled). With a structure, it gets really high very fast.

rage vs damage, for a single 1 energy weapon the total damage is equal after 5 rounds with 3 energy. but if you have extra energy then it scales faster. and if you have things liek shivs then its much better.

+1 Rage on a single weapon takes around 3-4 turns to outdo +5 damage. Where Rage shines is with a single normal weapon and a bunch of shivs/hatchets. You need 4 of those to have the same damage output on the first round, and it ramps up pretty significantly after that. On turn 2, you outpace raw +5 damage by 14, on turn 3 by 28 (for 42 total), etc. This means it shines on boss battles. Just be sure to pick up the Candle relic if possible, else the King will massacre you with Rage and Thorns.

I just tried this game out, lucked into haste and block synergy. You need to try it, its absolutely mental how much armor you can get with it if you can live trough the initial hits with minimal damage.

The structure builds are insanely good. I got 40+ block with little effort and no rare items required, just a bunch of structures. Plus, it synergizes with stuff which doesn't work when you have armour or shields, since structures don't count. Very strong.

Herb can be a powerful combo tool, stuff like seasoning or rage seasoning (forget exactly what the item is called) can make it busted. My first winning run I had a log to create infinite herbs with that I used to scale my damage and get all my HP back at the same time.

Herbs are good with things like seasoning and one that adds energy to consumables. There's an item that creates free herbs every turn and that is v synergistic

My favorite combo was a chest plate that gave me 2 haste each turn and a TON of bricks. Haste means each time something adds armor it adds 2 more. Since I had bricks each one would add base+haste. Finally since it was 2 each turn my armor value would go up each turn as each turn haste would go down by one then up by 2

As far as I understand its almost always advantageous to use luck gaining items when you get them, potions, fish, what have you. Luck lasts across multiple battles ( I think, not confirmed). Also NG+ gets extremely grindy once you get to magma core with enemies having health in the 1.2k-7k range. Triple Gecko will almost always spell doom at that point, eating a curse hurts ALOT (like 30hp) and each Gecko is doing 27-31 damage + 25 fire damage stack. Thats something like 60 damage block + another 50 fire required to survive turn 1. Some have made it past that point, but not many. Enemies just have too much health.
