The best strategy by D11 is that there are only 5% teams in those big contests who actually make money ( i.e their winnings is more than the entry fee), but teams ending at 5 - 50% get the entry fee as winnings ( i.e No profit/loss)..... So, the downside is protected but ppl enter the contest hoping to be among the 5%

not going to debate whether it is a game of skill or luck, but having tried it for a few weeks I can say it is extremely difficult to make profits from it. Here are the reasons - [1] As you mentioned, the commission rate is too high. For a head-to-head contest, each player puts 5750, winner gets 10000. meaning Dream11 pockets 1500 (~13%). For multiple entrant tournaments, I've seen total collection being 1.2 Lakh, but prize pool only 1 Lakh, so again Dream11 pockets ~16%. [2] Tax laws that apply. Flat 30% tax on all profits, but losses can't be offset. So in the above head-to-head example, both players pay 5750 upfront. Loser gets 0. Winner gets 5750 + (4250 * 0.7) = 8725. Actual profit margin is only 51.74% whenever he wins, & 100% loss whenever he loses. Assuming a player is 'above average' in terms of skill & manages to win two-third of all matches he enters. Then his profit margin is only (51.74 * 2 - 100)/3 = 1.16%. Mind you, being successful two-third of the time is not easy at all, & he's barely breaking even! Truth be told, people believe they're highly skilled, but their skill & opponent skill generally balance each other out, & eventually it again comes down to luck factor itself. Even people who win matches more often than not (say 60% success rate) will end up losing money, realize the game is rigged & quit. Only those who can churn out > 75% success rate will keep playing & make profits.

Ppl believe they only need to hit the jackpot once to become rich. If you win 1st prize on your 1000th attempt, you gotta factor in not only the ticket cost of that tournament, but also the ticket cost for the 999 previous times that you didn't win. Most will quit way before that, & even those who finally hit success will only be negating their previous losses (& maybe winning a little bit more).

Excellent analysis, I played Tottenham vs Newcastle the other day and Spurs won 5 -1. Out of the goal scorers and assist makers that is a total of 10 players with returns(2 common players) I had 6 players. I won a paltry 12 rupees with entry fee of 40. Now had Newcastle won I would have lost rs 40. And I am an ardent football fan following the premier league since 2005. Yes, I have to keep winning to make a decent profit which is not possible.

Apart from the 20% commission fee dream 11 takes, it’s time to consider that most the of the high stake wins (i.e. 1.5-2lakhs for the highest rankers) are not actually awarded to real players because you never see anyone winning this amount in a ₹50 match in real life. Most of the times it’s the bot accounts who get these winnings which Indirectly comes back to dream 11 only and they show these in their books as winner payouts. So, imo the unofficial profits of dream 11 are alot more than what it they look in the books.

I'd like you to cover Land Reforms acts of India and how even after 75 years of independent india when India is celebrating Amrit Mahotsav it is still so much lacking in competent legislatives and lawmakers that time and again they tend to leave so many loopholes in the land laws legislatures (or intently leave so) that people still get cheated. And that's when India is the country with more land laws inacted than anywhere else in the world. How exactly the mechanism of frauds that happen takes place. And chronologically how these loopholes have been identified and corrected in the past but still new ones appear and remain to be exploited. And lastly the current state of land laws. I know the topic is tough but is a required one for all yougesters to understand so that they make better career choices and so that more people contribute in this field.

hmmm i have been playing dream 11 since 2020 i participate in almost all matches i usually make a safe blanced team and one risky team for a match and apy 30 rs for each team one day i opened my profile and analyzed the safe team lost that 30rs only 3.48% (but the profit was only500 in all matches)of time and the risky team won 60% percentage of the time (the net profit was around 15K ) so if u have proper knowledge of the form of players and the field conditions a common sense in crickets u wont loss money and i personally dont play for money just to increase fun and excitement in a game i was already gonna watch and i make the team while traveling or something so not much lose of time also at the end u decide if its skill or luck i would say its almost like stock market u invest based company preformance and also i have lost more matches when it comes to rcb because of picking players sometimes due to emotions like always making vk captain lol and

Well if this is legal than why are betting odds illegal in India. This makes absolutely no sense. To determine the winner of a match is also a skill. It's more of a skill than choosing players, because your knowledge of pitch, players, teams, conditions is used.

Imo Dream11 is still a gamble only because alot of things depends on the luck of actual players and chances in the match but the odds of winning depends heavily and a lot more on your team selecting skills.
