Your picture of the day I brought her home, brings back memories of a brown 1967 mini van. The day I brought home, and spent three days sorting out spare parts, spare wheels garbage, junk parts, etc. Fond memories of years gone by.

Hi sir, im planning on swapping my engine also to d16 or d15 vtec. Can you help me with the conversion of my subframe to fit the engine? Its not cheap to have it done here by a shop so decided to get help from people who made it. Also for the conversion to fit it on the wheel hub? Very nice build!!!
@brianpatanjo88186 жыл бұрын
Jed Tomas look up Mcgees custom minis. John McGee is the man to talk to. He’ll provide you with everything you need and save some cash compared to other kits.

Love the build! Literally perfect 😍 I was planning to do the same to my mini. Want to drive it and not worry about breaking down haha. Quick question tho, I see that you sold it afterwards. And seen that most people that swap a vtec, end up selling their cars. Do you know why that might be? Just curious since I might be in the same situation soon

I kick myself for selling this car but when I did, I had plans to buy my true dream(1990’s r32). I ended up buying 3 more minis and currently have a d series swapped Honda mini I’m loving for the past 5 years. Reach out to John McGee and McGee classic minis. His kit is top notch. Will not disappoint.

Very good looking. I'm attempting a similar build in my 64 mini. Are you able to turbocharge it with the ITB? The intake manifold is giving me some trouble. I do not want to use the silicon elbows.
@brianpatanjo88187 жыл бұрын
Rob Clark thank you. You can have a custom plenum made up to use with a turbo but it’ll be tight in a stock round nose.

Brian, what diff ratio? It sounds a lot taller than the one in my B16A2 Mini. If it's aftermarket, where did you get it, and how much?
@brianpatanjo88186 жыл бұрын
Phil Davenport its a 3.7 fd. But my motor is a d series. Not sure the cost. I had a custom Mfactory lsd made for it as well.

Nice build Brian. Does it make a good daily driver? torque steer? have you had any issues? High or low maintenance? I agree John Mcgee knows his Minis

Great build but too noisy for me,I'm going from biker to a total sleeper,got a 2016 Kawasaki 1400 CC,got me a Smart car,kept my stock mufflers,wanna be invisible from the cops and others,engine has full power on/off from 106 HP to 183 HP.....Project is on,got Brabus wheels with TOYO tires,Willwood rotors,calipers and pads,lots of 'lego'parts for now but exited......

@brianpatanjo88186 жыл бұрын
Tony Lloyd, I knackered it up really good. Thank you! ;). I love and can appreciate all types of builds, whether it’s a nut and bolt original restoration or a custom modern classic. Sorry you can’t see the love, labor and commitment that was put into my build. Cheers.

It's a MINI, Not a MINI Cooper S. Big difference in Market value. (NZ MINI owner myself) Great Vid. Very Inspiring @Brian Patanjo.
@Jake_YZ292 жыл бұрын
Calm down, Tony. The Honda d series is a much better engine, and it's lighter. 5.3 million minis were produced, so I don't see why swapping one with a more reliable engine is an issue.
