I don't think she is. She plays some piano, but doesn't consider herself a pianist and definitely isn't concert level classical pianist like the Schubert piece heard here. When you hear her talking about playing the piano in interviews she says she's "not great but clunks out her chords". Granted, she's pretty decent at piano and clunking out the chords as she puts it. They probably got someone else to do the piano part for her and she just moved her arms around to look like she's aggressively playing the piano.

Even tho Idina wasn't as wicked and brutal as the other stepmothers from the other Cinderella remakes, I don't care. Idina still was the best part of this remake, especially with Dream Girl. Idina was the PERFECT & RIGHT pick for the stepmother! She was even the only one who did an original song with all the other ladies whereas everyone else including her and the ladies only did covers of radio songs. Idina deserved to be nominated for this role!
