An example of "all good things come to he who waits...." They didn't get what they first thought they wanted, but each couple ended up happy with their choice eventually.

This generation is not like us. You purchase what your budget allows. Over the years as you taste changes you make renovation changes so in 10 years you have what you want and your investment increases over those years. 20 years in my home doubled my money with little money put in it other than flooring. They can do this in years you will be happy. Jump in the pool of housing.

Unless you’re like 90 years old, the people in this video are closer to your generation than the current one. These people are probably in their mid to late 40s now.

The big reason buyers can't find properties in hot markets is that they think they can negotiate a lower price. But they fail to realize that in hot markets, prices rise every month. If they bid 280K on a 300K house, they'll lose it. But in one year those 300K houses are selling for their 325K asking prices. Every month you drag your feet, you will be able to afford LESS house, not more.

True but the bubble eventually bursts and home prices tumble leaving you paying a mortgage on a $325k property that is now worth $280k or less...

@@williamegler8771 *so using your logic, one should only buy a house in a crashed housing market, right?* You're saying one should never buy because you need a HOME and don't want to throw away rent for 7-10 years in a rising markets waiting for a housing market to crash, right? LOL Ever calculate how much the average rent is on a nice house in a decent area X SEVEN YEARS? I didn't think so.

Ok, um, sweetie….it’s the UK, lol. It’s significantly smaller and older than the US, hence, the houses are older and smaller. Gasp! 😂😂😂
@bar10ml44Ай бұрын
In the US the houses are big but seem to be in soulless communities where everything is assessed by car. To travel the country you need to fly or again drive as no Investment in high speed rail. In the UK it's not always necessary to own a car. I have 4 tube stations within a 7 to 15 minute walk and a choice of several buses two which stop right on my corner. In 2024 the majority of people are now unable to buy unless they are in highly paid jobs or inherit or use the bank of mum and dad. Even then they will have to make many compromises. It's a huge contrast between our countries both have advantages and disadvantages.

What is up with so many folks wanting to " add value" ? What happened to being happy with what you and being happy with move in ready ?

Financial reality, foresight and security. Not to mention common sense.

Because move-in-ready often comes with other compromises, as seen here with both of the searches. Both houses that each couple liked the most shared two characteristics: They were both movie in ready, and they were both on or near busy roads.

Ben shushes his wife like she's a toddler, and then when asked if the house (which ticks his own boxes) would get his vote if his pregnant wife was happy - he says he doesn't know... Ben is garbage. He didn't have to say he'd mindlessly say yes, but he could act as though he wants to care for his family more than being "in charge".

They're expecting a baby and they wanted to live in a construction site? Talk about unrealistic people. You can tell they are first-time parents. They have more than enough problems on their hands with a child. Fortunately fate stepped in and decided for them. They're idiots otherwise. And there's a house that was not on the market before the estate agent convinced his friend to sell it. Well under budget for them. I know the housing shows are scripted but this one was ridiculous.

She was "hugging" her. And apparently you chose not to see them talking to him. They made it a point to ASK him questions about his preferences. He's a quiet person with an outgoing partner. SHE took the lead. Kirsty and Phil tried to draw him out more. You're not English. So why would you try to create a problem when you don't understand the culture in the UK? Not only that, these shows take weeks to film. They talk to these couples for HOURS. We see small clips. So you think that's enough to say anything about them?
