Bobby accomplished much in his 37 years on earth. #1 hits, Grammys, Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor (Capt. Newman M.D.), a successful Las Vegas run, Civil Rights activist, music publisher. A concentrated dose of life.

Playing the piano, then playing harmonica and jumping back on the piano. That's what you call superior entertainment! Those were the days... for sure! Happy Wednesday... thank you for sharing! 💖 Happy Holidays! 🎄✨️🎁🦌🎅🤶🧑🎄

I had a buddy in the 80’s when I was in the military that was 19 that was phenomenal with the harmonica. I can say it’s the only instrument that can send chills down my spine. Unfortunately Jody passed on unexpectedly in 83. Extremely talented musician and had a voice to go with it.

@curtisphilumalee1447 I agree. I always loved to hear the harmonica. It's an instrument we don't hear enough of. I'm sorry your buddy passed away. You have all the wonderful memories... what a gift. Thank you so much for sharing! 💖

I was expecting to not like this too much, but, man, Bobby Darin and that band could really cook! Very impressed by the guitarist's chops.

I just looked up a quick bio on Bobby Darin. I guess he died really young at around 37. Evidently he got sepsis from a dental visit. I didn’t even know that was possible. But he died in 1973 I believe so this video might be close to one of his last performances perhaps. But I’ve been reading books by Dr. Paul Ruggieri the last couple of days and, while those books are interesting, it makes me want to stay out of hospitals, that’s for sure. (At 0:15 it’s really interesting. The camera shows an above shot of Mr. Darin and the crowd behind him and it looks like you’re looking through smoke from a fire. I don’t know if the original camera was shaking or if it’s maybe an analog-to-digital artifact in I’m assuming post-production work. But I had to go back and watch it a few times because I first thought I was having a migraine.)

He also had a really bad heart. I was thinking this might have been one of his last performances, too. He was such an all around top entertainer !

He did have a bad heart and bypass surgery would’ve corrected everything but he went into cardiac arrest during the surgery and died

The sepsis got into his bloodstream and created several clots. Trouble for one who had a pre-existing heart condition

I read the liner notes to his box set and he always felt that he would die young; which is why he tried to cram so much living into such a short time span.

The only Darin I ever liked better was Darin Steven’s on “Bewitched.” I think that character was played by two different actors though for some reason. But Samantha’s mom called him “Darwood” from memory. So disrespectful of the name. Tsk tsk.
