CFTKK's biggest strength and weakness is its variety. There are a lot of different wacky scenarios the game throws you in that are really cool to experience. But many of these aren't fleshed out for the time you spend in them and rarely are different mechanics from past levels built on in later levels. A level like Patrick being a Superhero is neat the first while you play it but then starts to drag as nothing new is introduced. That's why Plankton's levels tend to be the best. They are the shortest and the most varied from set piece to set piece which allows the varied and shallow nature of these levels to shine rather than be a hindrance. I think this would have been a better game if the early Spongebob and Patrick levels were made shorter and instead, there were more set pieces or other dreams in between

I remember renting the GameCube version back in 2007 and getting stuck pretty early. Then last year I found a copy of the Wii version and from what I played, its a fun game.

If you want another Spongebob Game, I have fond memories of Lights, Camera, Pants! Granted, that's a party game, but as a kid I don't feel like I have any memories of being barred from the main content for playing singleplayer.

I still have that game and I love it but let me tell you one of the hardest games when playing SpongeBob lights camera pants was the seahorse soccer game and let me tell you I kind of sucked it trying to aim the ball into the goal XD
