I'm 17 and I was born in the perfect generation, all the music that people used to pay out the ass to listen to is now completely free, and I can even listen to it while playing my ps3 or any pc game and can customize the audio to amplify any aspect of any song I so choose, gotta love this generation :)

Y'know that feeling when a song makes you feel so good, it just gives you chills and then makes your blood boil and gives you a warm feeling inside? That's the feeling I get when I listen to this song. The vocals, the lyrics, the music, the power it makes you feel. This song just makes me feel so good. Whenever I'm down, I play this and I feel so much better about myself afterwards. It's just so powerful. You just want to shout the lyrics out and scream at the top of your lungs. Hopefully people know what I am talking about. So fucking motivational and powerful and inspirational!

Morgalucci what do you mean, "who came for better parts"? So you think there are people who just come and listen to one part of the song? Because that is really stupid as well,. That's like saying instead of watching movies, you skip the whole thing and just watch the climax at the end.
@Morgalucci8 жыл бұрын
+Andrew Ricklefs No, it isn't, it is more like skipping a talking scene (which may be brilliant) to get to the action because they are in a rush. A lot of people want to go to the familiar parts of the song rather than a long introduction.

Most of the comment section is preteens seeking approval for liking this song. But notice the video that's happening on is the one with 12 million views. Most of these "born in the wrong generation" kids probably couldn't name any Pink Floyd or Velvet Underground songs, shit probably not many more Aerosmith songs. I guess it doesn't matter. At least they're listening to this and not Nicki Minaj so to that, I applaud.

Electric Blitz I'm 15, I'm not claiming to be born in the wrong generation just because I listen to old music. I love the music from this generation. Strokes, Kendrick Lamar, Shins, White Stripes, Daft Punk, Eminem, Wilco, Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse. I think the people who claim that this generation sucks don't listen to enough music. You weren't born in the wrong generation, sorry.
@Som_RandomGuy10 жыл бұрын
***** Never heard of most of those people. I've heard some Eminem, and ironically enough I'm listening to Daft Punk's Robot Rock. But aside from a few songs, none of the artists you listed off are any good. And if the music I like listening to was in the past, then yes, I was born in the wrong generation.

God damn these kids saying they were born in the wrong generation. As said by filthy frank, nobody gives a shit, if you were born in the generation that this music came from, you would have no iPads, iPhones, nothing, more than likely not even a computer. There would be no KZbin for YEARS. Like holy shit kids, grow up, you were born in this generation, live with it. Amazing song, but that doesn't make me want to go back ten years before I was even friggin born to listen to it.
@lukematt20009 жыл бұрын

by their logic because I was boring in 96' does that mean my generation can't enjoy music from other time periods? I love Orchestras those have been around for ever does this mean my generation is wrong? Hell no, we are lucky we were born in this generation we now have access to millions of songs from 2000's, 90's, 80's, 70's, 60's, etc etc.
@katarina50769 жыл бұрын
I'm really happy to be born in the 1999 in a "third world country" because a part of my childhood was like the 90s and a part was (is) a part of modern era.
@alanazarin77619 жыл бұрын
Lunarius Lumosity That's right. When I was growing up in the 70s and 80s, young people thought it was so cool to say they wish they had been young in the 60s, because the 60's were like, such a trip, man. Right. It would have been so great to get drafted and sent to Vietnam, right? The great thing about being young now, like you say, is that kids have immediate and unlimited access to a full catalog of music and virtually unlimited live performances on youtube.. for FREE. You can get a complete musical education, opinions and commentary included, not just on timeless rock and roll classics, but also on classical, blues, jazz, or even old time banjo, if you want it. Back before MTV, we only heard what was on the RADIO, or if your cool cousin from New York City made a mix tape for you, you might learn about the Ramones and the Velvet Underground. That was it. Kids today don't know how lucky they are. Oh, and also, I had to walk to school through ten feet of snow.

@DarkScorpionPete9810 жыл бұрын
OutlawRebel117 You have spoken the truth. Some artists nowadays run out of originality and decide to sample/remake a song (which then turns out to be crappy). The sad thing is, some of today's artists are given all of the glory for a song that was composed a "long" time ago by a way better artist (yes, a way better artist).
@jacobd56710 жыл бұрын
They're both legends in their own genre. You can't compare them. Eminem is still original, just not with the song he sampled this in.
@jacktilis378310 жыл бұрын
Jacob's right. Even though I'm not a fan of Eminem or the entire rap genre, Eminem is great at what he does, just like how Aerosmith is great at what they do. But, if we were going to talk about POPULAR music from then versus POPULAR music now, I'd say that Aerosmith, the Stones, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and all the others have got the modern artists beat
