DREAM ON - PITT PANTHERS FOOTBALL HISTORY

When I went to school in the late '70's and early 80's, I was walking among future NFL stars every semester for four years. I do not know what's happened to this Pitt team but this video brings up some warm moments from my time at PITT and a bit of sadness as I am now in my 50's and miss those days of innocence.

Nice. Pitt Alum 1975-79. Saw the golden years of Pitt football as a student - from the great upset of Notre Dame in 1975 when TD ran for over 300 yds at Pitt Stadium to the national championship game at the Sugar Bowl to about the time of Hugh Green and Ricky Jackson.

I'm now 52 years old but so much of the footage I recognize from the mid 70's (like I posted) that I can cry for remembering opportunities that were missed. Why can't we enjoy the times we are in instead of them always being a memory. Again, just a superb video. WERE THEY TEARING down the goal posts at the last game at Pitt? What year was that? I knew so many of the players from the champ.team.

My uncle Todd Becker, played for Pitt in '82 he was #38. Todd passed away that year, and a artical in sports illistrated told a story of Todd falling out a window even "drew a pictuar". I think that was awful. I know they were number 1 in the country at the time. I just wonder if there was more the the story. If anyone knew or heard the the story, and could help it would be greatly apperactied. Thank you, Zack Becker

Those years were way before my time, but my dad told me the same thing. He said back in the 70s-80s when Johnny Majors and Jackie Sherrill were coaching, that Pitt was it.

Great video, thanks. True story. I was a freshman with Hugh Green in a class of about 20. He respected me because I am an orthodox Jew and I answered all of the questions with morality. He seemed to like that because he was always quiet and came over to me 1 day to show me a letter from the comm. of the CFL wanting him to jump right to the Canadian league. He asked me what to do and all I said was Whatever you think is right. By Sophomore year he didn't know who I was Ha, Ha!
